Set on 13 landscaped acres, The Dana on Mission Bay is a half-mile from SeaWorld and seven miles from downtown San Diego.
In addition to a private marina, the hotel features fitness facilities and a tropical-style pool with game area and a bayside infinity-edge pool. Both pools have spa tubs and bar service.
Shuttle service is available for arriving and departing guests only to the airport, Amtrak station, and cruise ship terminal (surcharges). A free shuttle to Sea World is also offered. All shuttle service is limited, based upon availability, and subject to change.
Dining options include a family-style American restaurant and a casual lounge with warm wood walls and pool views.
Complimentary wireless Internet access is available throughout the hotel.
Rooms
Most rooms at The Dana on Mission Bay have garden, marina, or Mission Bay views. Guestrooms with no pool or marina views are located in the hotel's original Marina Cove area. These rooms offer compact refrigerators, microwaves, coffeemakers, and separate vanity areas.
Bay-view guestrooms, located in the Water's Edge area, provide sofa beds and private furnished patios or balconies. Bay-view amenities include wet bars with compact refrigerators, microwaves, and coffeemakers.
All rooms offer complimentary wireless Internet access, high-definition TVs with satellite service, HBO, and pay movies. All accommodations are nonsmoking.

The Blue Pearl - Family-style restaurant. American fare. Children's menu available. Open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Room service available during restaurant hours.
Firefly Restaurant and Bar - Contemporary atmosphere and innovative cuisine unique to the California region. Open for dinner and poolside service next to the year-round bayside pool. Happy hours. Casual dining.
Pool bar - Located near the tropical pool. Seasonal hours.
Recreation
The Dana on Mission Bay - Sea World features two landscaped, heated outdoor pools; both have spa tubs. A seasonal pool bar offers beverages for the Tropical Pool, while the Firefly Restaurant provides seasonal beverage service to the Bayside Pool. Ping-Pong and volleyball are available on site for guests, as well as bicycle rentals, pedal boats, personal watercrafts, and other water-sports rentals.
A 140-slip marina and a 27-mile jogging/biking path are adjacent to the hotel.

“great value, esp the bed and brkfst deal!!!”
great place to stay with the kids. The bathroom was a little small, but the room was nice and the fridge and micro were nice too. Shuttle to Sea World was great!!! helped save on the 10 dollar parking!
“Family of four from Seattle”
We stayed at this hotel for five days. My kids (9 and 11)felt comfortable and happy the whole time. The people were nice and professional, the microwave and the small refrigerator was an isle for healthy snacks in a budget. Just one day during our stay the maintenance didn't remove the garbage, but I thought it was just an accident. The bathroom was a little small, but the room with two very comfortable queen beds was spacious and nice.. I chose it because it was right across the Sea World but it was way nicer that what I expected from a three star hotel... We would love to go back there!
“Great stay at the Dana”
Four of us spent a week at the Dana and were very pleased with the hotel. The staff was very pleasant, accomodating and helpful. There is a wonderful little gift shop, computer access, and 2 great restaurants. The outdoor hot tub was a plus in addition to the two pools. We especially liked the Firefly restaurant - really good food and drinks..
“Good location, great service, great rooms!”
We choose this hotel for it location on Mission Bay and because it was centrally located since we were going to be traveling to Pacific Beach, Ocean Beach, Point Loma, Coranado, Old Town San Diego, and Downtown San Diego. They upgraded our room for no extra charge upon our arrival and our room was amazing. We did not spend too much time at the hotel but the breakfast in the mornign was great. Overall a very pleasant stay!
“Would love to go back!”
We had a great time! My 7-year old daughters loved staying in the pool late (pool closes at 10pm). So we got to spend the day sightseeing & then still made it back in time for the girls to hang play in the pool. Room & amenities (toiletries, coffees & robes) were great!

We wanted to spend a leisurely day in San Diego. Though this hotel is right next to Sea World we didn't go there and it did not feel like a "theme park" hotel at all. It was comfortable, quiet and very nice. Upgrading to the bay view with breakfast was definitely worth it. It is a short drive (adults could walk) to Mission Beach which was very clean and fun. Also very close to the airport and downtown. We will stay here again when/if we return to San Diego.
“The best vacation ever!!!!!”
I was a little anxious about the hotel, but when we arrived it was absolutely beautiful. The view of the bay is just breath taking.
“Great Stay - would return in a heart beat”
Very nice hotel with great staff. Location is perfect, next to Sea World get a great view of the fireworks every night. Breakfast at the Blue pearl is better than fireflys, just quicker service and more variety. Staff really nice to kids. Hotel pool clean with plenty of clean towels and lounge chairs. Would recommend this hotel.

Great Place for a family vacation. Free shuttle service to Sea World and the airport. Every one was very friendly and helpful. Make sure you stay in a deluxe Bay View room.
