We enjoyed our time tremendously.Posted Jul 27, 2014
Pros: Location, the bay, the pool, the marina, restaurants and front desk staff.
Cons: We could have stayed longer!
Location: We drove to Mission Beach each day and walked across the street and walked around that Marina and out to the jetty. Sea World and their fireworks
Being by the bay and watching the boats enter the harbor was very relaxing. Our grandson loved the big lawn on which to run and play. The pool was beautiful and we spent a lot of time there. Breakfast at the Blue Pearl is always fine and the pool side restaurant for light dining was great. We hope to come again soon.

Pros: location, 2 pools
Cons: more choice on menu for the pool
Location: walking distance to mission beach, marina, near bus stop can manage without a car, 10 minutes away from Sea World, nice little deli a 2 minutes walk
Very nice hotel walking distance to the beach, love that you are able to open window, not a fan of air conditioning

Pros: The staff!!!
Cons: Offer more fare in the restaurant for children and teens.
Location: Mission Bay in San Diego. Numerous activities and amusement parks very close by.
My husband stayed with his family at the Dana 41 years ago and when I told him about the hotels I was considering when planning our vacation, he said he remembered that this was where his family had stayed. When I asked his parents, they also remembered how central it was and how helpful all the staff was. It was indeed central to more things than we could even fit into our visit and the staff was above and beyond courteous, friendly and helpful. Started with the shuttle driver and continued all the way through the entire experience.

First timerPosted Jul 24, 2014
I would like to say that the staff was excellent. They checked us in early. The concierge was very helpful on booking our tour. I was not impressed with the facility. It did not look like the pictures.

Nicely advertised hotelPosted Jul 24, 2014
If you book your stay here make sure you get a room with the bay view. Will be extra but it will be worth it! If not, stay somewhere else!

It was more like a motel of 15yrs ago. Air worked good. Just not what I expected. Too out dated for a top rated HOTEL. Dirty carpet with spots.

OK, but expectations were higher.Posted Jul 21, 2014
The room was fine, but nothing special. As parents, we appreciated the nightly movie for kids at the pool. However, neither restaurant (Firefly and The Blue Pearl) was particularly memorable, and the serving staff seemed overwhelmed each time we went. Overall, it was an OK place, but more akin to a regular hotel, rather than a destination resort where one would expect more for the money.
