Pros: Location, history, comfort.
Cons: Make bar more enticing.
Location: Can't beat the location. It is closer absolutely everything!
Great historical area. My husband or nine. Very relaxed enjoying the town for two days. Can't beat the restaurants, shopping, movies, everything.

Overall decent

Place is very convenient, bars and restaurants are all walking distance from the hotel. Woke up and wanted to make some coffee but coffee maker seemed a little dirty, so I waited till we had breakfast.

Very Nice Boutique Type Hotel

Posted Mar 2, 2015
Pros: Quaint, clean, excellent staff
Location: Convenient to everything. Tour trolley stop is right outside hotel.
Loved the hotel and the location for walking around San Diego. Our room was situated on the street side. The only downfall is that there is a nightclub across the street that closes at about 2 am and the street then becomes extremely noisy (pedal carts with boom boxes and young people fill the street). This lasted about an hour. The next morning, we asked to be moved to the back side of the hotel and were accommodated easily.

nice surprise

Posted Mar 2, 2015
Pros: Location, price
Cons: not much
Location: Convention center!
Great value for the price paid! So close to the convention center, less than 0.5 mile walk. Room was nice and cozy. Lots of features similar to what you would find in 5 star hotels. I always appreciate any hotel that gives you a bottle of water. That was classy. Fireplace worked but very small flames. Shower head height is very low. It could be a problem for very tall people. Front desk said wifi was only in the lobby but I was able to access it in my room.

The Horton San Diego is truly Grand!

Posted Mar 2, 2015
Pros: Proximity, comfort, style
Location: Shopping, dining, late night entertainment
had a wonderful time in San Diego, and this was enhanced by my experience of the Horton Grand, in the tourist district of Gaslamp. This Victorian style hotel is ideally located for the tourist trail, and the Old Town Trolley stops outside the door. All the attractions of the city can be accessed from here. Breakfast is to a high standard and there are bar snacks until late in the evening. The staff are so helpful and dedicated to making your stay memorable.

Beautiful area!

Posted Mar 1, 2015
Cons: internet, shower pressure
The hotel is beautiful..plenty of history there. Staff are friendly. Great area. walking distance to many restaurants, shopping, and is close, walking distance to Seaport Village and USS Midway. The only negative is that the internet is not very good and the water spray in shower is not great. We were able to look past that

lots of charm in an excellent location

Posted Feb 25, 2015
I always prefer the charm, location and friendly staff of the Horton Grand when I stay in San Diego. Located in the Gas Lamp, easy walk to the convention center, Petco ballpark and all that the gas lamp has to offer in terms of restaurants and clubs. What i particularly like about the Horton is that they have kept the charm of the old Horton residence and you can see it throughout the property. Always a pleasant change from the big chain hotels..

Cute boutique hotel!

Posted Feb 24, 2015
Took my boyfriend there for his birthday trip to San Diego and we really liked the hotel. It has a cute vibe with the fun elevators and beautiful courtyard. Our room was big and comfy. We could hear a lot of people around us which I think is just because it is an old hotel. Would definitely go back!

Nice Victorian hotel in the heart of downtown,

Posted Feb 20, 2015
Pros: everything.
Cons: nothing
Location: easy walking distance for all sorts of activities we were right in the gaslamp district. easy walk to seaport village and convention center.
from the valet parking to the great service, we were treated like family. great food and elegant dining. cant say enough good things about the hotel. The price was surprising as when we walked in to our room, it was huge! They called it a mini suite. it felt as is we were given an upgrade. I will suggest all my friends to the hotel.
