Great centrally located hotel.

Posted Feb 25, 2015
Very friendly and helpful staff. Clean and comfortable hotel. Hotel restaurant/bar offered great menu items. Happy hour specials daily. This hotel was close to everything. You can walk to the Gas Lamp Quarter and Little Italy and also have quick access to I-5. The only negative was the $34/day valet parking fee. All around it was a great experience and it was a perfect location. I will stay here again without question.

Great location

Posted Feb 23, 2015
Loved staying in this historic hotel. Well renovated rooms, excellent hotel restaurant, nice amenities such as free yoga, happy hour and walking tour. And walking distance to so much; the water area, shopping, etc. The bed and pillows were a bit lumpy And the lobby was a bit dark. Otherwise, a great place in a great area.

Pros: Convenient downtown location, nice lobby, attractive room decor
Cons: Find cabs quicker. Invest in staff staying at a Sheraton, where the staff goes beyond what is required to help. Get better pillows
Location: Middle of downtown; close to lots of restaurants, shopping and harbor.
Convenient downtown location, nice lobby, staff ok, though took 5 min to find a cab on a busy corner. Rooms very small, but attractive.

Great location

Posted Feb 19, 2015
Pros: decor, historic, centrally located
Cons: Parking is very expensive, vallet is $35 per night.
Location: great sushi place across the street, panera bread 1 block , coffee bean downstairs, really everything you would want a 1-2 blocks away by foot.
We have stayed in SD before, mostly by the water, but this time we wanted to stay somewhere else. This hotel is only a 10 min walk from the water seaport village, gaslamp, and the midway. It is a very nice building and historic. The rooms were really nice and comfy.

Great place to stay for a few nights.

Posted Feb 18, 2015
Pros: Location. Cleanliness. Helpful Staff, front desk, Valet parking, everyone.
Cons: The shower was terrible. Hate to say it. The water just about trickled out of the shower head. It might be the only thing keeping me from visiting the
Location: Gaslamp Quarter for a night out. Seaport village a few blocks west. Mall across the street. short ride to Balboa Park. Easy to get to.
We onlystayed two night. The hotel was as good as expected, Staff nice and helpful. Room perfect. All was good. Location was great. Close to Gaslamp Quarter and to the Seaport Village area and just a 10 minute drive to Balboa Park.

Nice hotel downtown close to bus stop for airport

Posted Feb 16, 2015
I needed an hotel close to a bus stop to take me early to the aiport. The Sofia worked wonderfully and made it for a smooth flight back home. The only minus was the construction work being done in the parking lot right behind the hotel. Thankfully I was on the 7th floor and didn't go to bed until 11 pm (it stopped shortly before midnight) but for those on lower floors, going to bed early, it probably wasn't such a pleasant experience.
