Great Central Hotel -

Posted Nov 17, 2014
This was a great hotel. Good room with plenty of space. Central to most key attractions and a short walk to the Gas Lamp Quarter. If you have an early flight to catch though don't relmy on the wake up call - ours never happened.

Historic building in a great location

Posted Nov 17, 2014
Pros: The size of the hotel and the friendliness of the staff.
Cons: The bed was not the most comfortable but everything else was top notch!
Location: The Sofia Hotel is perfectly located in the Gas Lamp District. There are countless of interesting places to explore in that area.
This is a wonderful location to spend a few days. There is lots that is walkable from the Sofia but it is also right on a bus route and public transportation is very easy to manage in this city. The hotel has a great restaurant and a coffee shop right next door. The extra offerings - like yoga classes and weekend walking tours are a special touch. A fridge, microwave and coffee pot in the room are other bonuses.

Lovely hotel, central location

Posted Nov 17, 2014
Pros: It's cleanliness and central location. Reception staff were helpful and friendly.
Location: You can walk to Seaport Village and catch the public bus to the San Diego Zoo from across the street. You can walk to Little Italy.
The Sofia hotel was centrally located in San Diego. Reception staff were very helpful whenever I asked them for information. It is within walking distance to Gaslamp Quarter, Seaport Village and train station. The hotel room was extremely clean and 2 complimentary bottles of water are left each day. The room is small and not much room to move around but we only slept in the room so it was fine. We would definitely stay there again if lucky enough to return to San Diego.

Great location

Posted Nov 16, 2014
Nice cozy hotel with friendly and helpful staff. Loved the complimentary bike rental, with lock (for 3 hours, more if nobody is waiting) so you could explore downtown SD at your own pace. The location is close to the night life, good food and a great trail along the boardwalk! Def Would stay here again!

Very Centrally located but rooms a bit small

Posted Nov 16, 2014
Pros: It was in a great location. Easy walk to train and trolley station and buses went right past hotel. Also close to shopping mall.
Cons: The rooms aren't large enough for two double beds and families
Location: Balboa park and museums, zoo, midway museum, Horton plaza, spreckles theatre, restaurants, gaslamp quarter
We had a double room with 2 adults and 2 children staying. The room advertised had a Kitchenette. In actual fact it did have a fridge and microwave but only one desk chair and no seats or room for anyone except for on the beds. The service of rooms was very prompt and the concierge very helpful.
