“Best Value”

It was really a lovely hotel. It's just so disappointing that the carpets in the hallway were stained and that there was a nasty odor in the hallways. Other than that, there was a lot of attention to detail in making sure our stay was comfortable and the staff was amazing. The location is also great. We spent a lot of time walking around that area and enjoyed it.

“A hotel to "get away"”

Luxurious comfort, friendly staff. This is the first hotel experience where I felt like "royalty."

“Beautiful hotel”

Every inch of the US Grant seems to have been painstakingly restored. As an admirer of historic hotels, I really appreciated that. The staff was also very friendly and courteous. The rooms were very nicely designed and very comfortable.

“Beautiful Hotel!”

This is a beautiful Hotel with lots of history behind it... The staff was very efficient and helpful in every way... The Hotels Concierge, Mark Peak, went above and beyond the necessary to make us feel at home... He even took us on a mini tour of the Celestial Ballroom. He made my 82 yr old Father feel very special. This is a must if you are visiting the San Diego area! :)... Enclosed is a picture of Mark with my Father and Sister.

“Great for couples or groups”

My boyfriend and I just LOVE this place, I highly recommend it! The decor in the lobby, the suites, and the standard rooms are all beautiful, and the bed linens and fittings are amazing (which is a must). The rooms are quiet and spaced out, which is also important. My standards are always met by the excellent staff & service at the US Grant Hotel! We've gone down from LA for my birthday for two years in a row now! We will definitely continue to stay here for years to come.

“Perfect Weekend Getaway”

My husband and I decided on a whim to take a weekend getaway to San Diego. The previous guests' reviews of the hotel swayed me into picking this particular hotel. And am I glad I listened to the rave reviews. The hotel is literally one block away from Fifth street, which is pretty much where all the great restaurants, bars and clubs are. We could walk to dinner every night and felt safe walking there. The hotel itself is absolutely beautiful The rooms are very nice, clean and comfortable. The hotel staff were amazingly friendly and helpful. I never heard the word no the entire time we stayed there. The Bell, Valet and Front Desk staff were definitely 5 star and we will definitely be staying in this hotel anytime we go to San Diego. If you are into wine, I'd recommend two wineries we visited while we were there. Both are not anywhere close to the Hotel, but both are well worth the journey. One is right on the way to the SD Wild Animal Park. The name is Orfila and they have a great patio overlooking the vineyard. The other is Bernardo. The ladies there were extremely friendly and helpful, and not pretentious for those of us who are not quite wine savy enough to call ourselves afficianado, but do enjoy a good glass of cabernet or merlot. We also reccomend going to The Grape, located on Fifth Street in the Gaslamp quarter. it has a great atmosphere and the bartenders are really helpful and friendly.

“Beautiful Hotel! Great Service!”

I would recommend the US Grant Hotel! The Hotel is Beautiful and the Service was Great! We did have a couple issues the first night, we had a beautiful room on the 7th floor, but the air conditioner and the street noise was a bit to loud. We did complain and the women at the front desk was very accomodating and we were given an upgraded room on the 11th floor. Which was also a beautiful room and had no noise issues with it. One other thing is we had a rental car and it is valet parking only at the hotel and it was $32.00 per day + tips to park there so keep that in mind if you have a car. It is real close to the airport, shopping and is right in the middle of the Gaslight district lots of restaurants and clubs. We would recommed it for sure!

“Great Older remodeled Hotel in perfect Downtown location.”

Thank goodness for the US Grant hotel. During our recent stay, my partner became ill, day 1 of our five day visit in San Diego. Fortunatly, we had the comforts of the hotel to offset this. Room service was excellent as was the food. Of course a bit pricey (Breakfast for two was $70). Our incidentals bill came to about $400.00, but we were stuck inside for 5 days! The bed was comfortable, great TV and movies selection, and the bathroom was luxurious and spacious. The fitness room was perfect: free weights and threadmills with cable TV monitors. The hotel staff was exceptional. Only one minor incident: one cleaning lady threw away some of our magazines when she came to clean. Hide anything away you don't want thrown out! The Gaslamp district is just across the street and great shopping is across the way at the Horton Plaza (Macy's, Nordstrom's). I also recommend eating at Cafe 222 about 5 blocks south on 222 Island street. Great waffles. I had to walk it off and found myself in the middle of Petco Field, home of the Padres. The valets were very professional and courteous. We never had to open our own doors!
