Great hotel, front desk staff is hit or miss.

Posted Mar 29, 2015
The hotel was very comfortable, spacious, and well-appointed for the price, but one of the front desk managers was very surly. His attitude wasn't enough to ruin a good stay, though. Overall, this is about as good as it gets for the price.

Convenient and economical

Posted Mar 24, 2015
Pros: The location is convenient to downtown -- about 15 minutes to go to dinner -- and Balboa Park, again about 15 minutes travel time after rush hour.
Cons: Although there were 4 wifi signals, sometimes the connection crawled.
Location: Located near San Diego State, convenient to highways.
This was my second stay at this Hotel and the room was much nicer than the one I had in 2011, which was dark. The WiFi was a little slow at times, but worked, and the breakfast was fine. Parking was no problem. Never got to check out the pool.

Cheap San Diego stay

Posted Mar 13, 2015
This place has been consistently nice to stay at for weekend trips to San Diego. The staff aren't the friendliest, but aren't too rude either. It's close to the 8. Parking is very tight. I stay here almost any time I go to San Diego though.

Convenient location for shopping, and eating out.

Posted Mar 11, 2015
Pros: Room size and cleanliness.
Cons: Parking lot is very crowded, small spaces requiring people to over park using more than one space. Perhaps eliminating 1 or 2 and making them wider.
Nice quiet pleasant stay. Clean comfortable beds. Good room size. Nice bathroom.

Better than expected, good value

Posted Feb 28, 2015
Pros: Cleanliness, easy check-in, freeway access was good. Roomy, good beds.
Cons: Sound proofing would help a bunch!
Location: All the usual San Diego attractions. Good location to Old Town.
In San Diego I was looking for a price point hotel. This property hits the mark. Clean and comfortable room. Biggest issue was my location the the elevator. Linoleum (no carpet) in the hallway made for a lot of patron noise and echoes. Also the ice machine is right outside the room and noisy. So, stay at the ends of the hallway and you've got a real value with this property.

One night Stay

Posted Feb 21, 2015
If you are looking for a clean reasonably priced hotel for a stay in La Mesa, then this hotel will serve your purpose. An older hotel but is kept clean. Beds are comfortable and rooms include small fridge and microwave. Close to highway 8 which will enable you to get to attractions in San Diego. Breakfast which is included offers toast, cereal, pastries, juice and coffee. Check in is not available until after 4pm.

Good location it is what you expect.

If you are looking for a nice place with amenities this is not your place. If you are looking for somewhere to crash for a night for a decent price look no further. Room was clean and hotel was clean. I was there enough time to get a good night sleep and that was it. It served the purpose. Typically I stay places that have good breakfast and decent workout facilities this is not that place.

I came to the hotel at 3.20 pm hoping to check in (Even if i knew that the actual check in time is 4 pm). Once you go through the front door, there is a big sign that check-in is at 4 pm, No Exception. So I assumed that it might be a computer related system that will not let people check in before 4 pm. At 3.55 pm, the front desk called me and gave me the room keys that was already ready in a box. I waited 40 mins just because of that dumb rule. I guess you get for what you pay for..... They also charged me $10 extra per night because my wife was staying with me. Like really???? There were 2 queen beds in that room and that was meant for only 1 person??? WILL DEFINITELY NOT BE BACK!
