Hidden gem of a hotel.Posted Dec 2, 2013
Pros: I love the hot springs!
Cons: This was a business/personal trip, so a business office would be a great set up!
Location: There is a great restaurant above the Lexus dealership in Escondido - La Vintana! a little pricey, but fun!
We found this hotel by searching the internet. We love the hot springs! Very nice and out of the way hotel. This place is a great place to relax and play golf!

Loved it!Posted Nov 18, 2013
Pros: Beautiful surrounding...trees, mountains and peace and quiet.
Cons: There was no restaurant in the premises so if you wanted food, you had to drive about 15 miles. Golf course restaurant opens at 11am on Mondays.
Location: We went to the Valley View casino which was about a 20 minute winding road drive.
This place was situated on a golf course and the scenery was absolutely beautiful! The room was quaint but small and clean. It's a getaway place and if you want peace and quiet, this is the place to go to. A destination wedding or party would be ideal!

Awesome spas!Posted Nov 4, 2013
Very nice and welcoming staff. We enjoyed our stay there and love the four spas with 24hr access! That should be the standard.

Very DisappointingPosted Oct 29, 2013
This is not a resort, more like a old hotel. The room is very outdated, dirty and had ants. The room didn't have a heater and the AC unit was a floor unit. The curtains where held back by a 1x2 board screwed into the wall vs having a hook. The fridge was sitting on the floor (no cabinet) with a microwave sitting on top of it. The TV was a 20 inch box from the 90's. The bathroom had black hair left in the shower. To top it all off, someone stole a hubcap off my car. Do not stay here!

A former favourite in North CountyPosted Sep 11, 2013
Pros: It's somewhat remote, with great views and a friendly club next door with bands most Saturdays. We also enjoy the casinos just up the road.
Cons: Awareness of when they need to cool the rooms, better A/C units, ( these were trailer park air conditioners), common sense.
Location: The Hotel is on a rocky outcrop, above a golf course. There's a nice bar/ restaurant, golf, gambling 16 miles away. It's quite lovely, actually.
My wife his time, however, we were quite disappointed. It had been in the hi 90's and we were looking forward to cooling off in our room. We checked in and when we entered the room, were bowled over by a wave of heat. 90- 100 degrees. No one had bothered to pre cool the room(on a 100 degree day}, and the double doors to the patio were bowed inward, leaving a large gap for hot air to blow in thru. We decided to tough it out, after all, how long could it take to cool one room? The A/C was a stand alone unit, like you might buy at K/mart, with tons of dials and timers and no instructions.I finally got it to blow cool air, but 2 hours later, it was hotter in the room than outdoors. The front desk said to just "give it time" those cathedral ceilings take a while. And "I'm sorry, That's the best I can do.". I have a medical condition, I can't regulate my body temperature. We went to the front desk and started giving Them options! Do you have a room with low ceilings? Shouldn't the rooms be pre cooled? "Yes" Can we have a pre cooled room?" ," I can put you in a cottage, they're smaller and only have Queens, That's OK isn't it?" No, we can't sleep in a Queen as the clerk gives us a look of disbelief! "What about the lower units in the building we're in?" I asked. " Well, we do have one with a King, but it's reserved." "is it pre cooled" I ask. "well yes, but.... " they aren't here yet, are they?"" Well, no I suppose I could move you in there and try to cool off your old room," DUH.

Very relaxing, warm welcome at the front desk. Only drawback is the resort is off the beaten path, so if you are traveling with kids, bring your own snacks

Three Star Hotel at Four Star PricePosted Aug 31, 2013 on Hotels.com
Nice pool and hot soaking tub areas. Rooms need to be updated and lack privacy curtains (sheer white panels)-- only choice for privacy is black-out curtains. Rooms also have lock-in-knob key, not exactly the most secure or convenient (only 1 key per room). For what we paid, I would have expected something more up to date and somewhat upscale. PS: Avoid the restaurant next door, Gopher Hole, at all costs!
