Okay for a quick one night stay

So, we just arrived from San Diego International Airport and needed a place to stay before we had our three day stay up in the San Diego mountains (Escondido). When we arrived they had a different check in time. That worked out as the front desk guy rearranged our itinerary and gave us a room that night. Since our check at the other hotel was in the afternoon we asked for a late checkout which was quickly denied. The room it's self looks like it hasn't been remodeled yet touched up for 20+ years. The bed was comfortable but the neighbors upstairs were pounding all night long. Along with a door that squeaked amazingly loud all night and sketchy people just hanging out, outside which just made the stay subpar.

The room was clean since carpets were cleaned recently. Rooms are being renovated every week. The villa would work well for family groups, although the living room accommodates around 10. The spa tubs are nice and the foliage is beautiful. They need a restaurant on the property and evidently are working on that. We enjoyed it and would return.

Don't stay here

Pros: Nothing.
Cons: Everything.
This hotel was a total mistake. There was nothing "resort & spa" about it. The facilities were in disrepair, the staff was rude and unprofessional, the so-called gym room was filled with old furniture, including a toilet, the pool was green with algae and we had to step over a dead lizard on the walkway.

Pros: Almost nothing. Near golf course & Well Resort.
Cons: Everything. Very outdated.
Location: Enough said.
They should refund both nights. Place changing hands and was starting to be remodeled. This info should have been on the website. Better yet the website should have said under remodel. I would not have stayed here in a million years. No-one was there. Also very noisy from road. Very outdated. Need I say more. Very bad experience.

Room smelled last like an old nursing home, with dirty carpet, and generally unkept. Undergoing transfer of ownership. Would NEVER stay there.

Pros: It is in a very beautiful setting and the beds are very comfortable.
Cons: I think they must be in receivership trying to stay afloat with a bare minimum staff. They need to close down until things are repaired.
Location: It's in San Diego county, what else is there to say? Lots to do.
Very short handed on staff, no organization as for reservations. We were given keys to an occupied room and then waited 1/2 an hour while they found and cleaned an empty room. The next night someone on staff woke us at 11:30 pm looking for an empty room and fortunately we had the chain lock hooked. We had to make sure we had shoes on at all times, someone had thrown a beer bottle on one of the paths and broken glass lay scattered all weekend. You could see that the toilet hadn't been cleaned, and you had to go ask for more toilet paper and soap. There is no heating or a/c in the rooms except for a little room heater-a/c unit which did nothing for comfort but made a lot of noise. We would have left except for spring break gave us little choice. Thankfully all we needed was a bed .

Went to lobby enterance door lock with note to call number for service. Three other were also waiting service call was made to 20 minutes for clerk to arrive. He unlocked front door but didn't open an invite thoughs waiting in. Took another 20 minutes to register in the two prebooked guest. Bar wasn't available no license to serve beer wine etc. nearest food service was a golf course bar.

Very disappointed

Pros: The only thing good about the hotel was the size of the rooms, very spacious
Cons: Staff, upkeep of the grounds, deliver what is advertised
Booked a room with 2 beds, upon arrival were told no rooms available with 2 beds. Pool and Soaking Hot Tubs were filthy, fitness center was closed, I tried to book a massage twice and was never contacted back. Needless to say we checked in on a Wednesday and left on a Sunday. The entire purpose for the stay was to relax during the day in the pool and spend the evenings in the Hot Tubs. Obviously this was not possible with how filthy they both were. We asked everyday if it would be cleaned and were told tomorrow the pool cleaner would be coming. The pool was cleaned on Sunday an hour before we checked out. The manager offered us a 25% discount. Insulting.

Nice quite hotel in a pleasant environment

Pros: Clean rooms, nice quite grounds, comfy beds.
Cons: When we came the pool was not cleaned. Someone came to clean it on our second day but they only skimmed the top. Disappointing.
Great hotel and easy enough check-in. Extra charge for late check-in, so try to be there before 9pm. Rooms were clean and beds fairly comfortable. Overall I would stay again.

Most accommodating staff particularly Dawn and Leah. Rooms very comfortable. Balcony a plus. Would have appreciated kleenex, coffee maker and glass instead of styrofoam cups.
