2 Days fishing and at the docks

Posted Apr 21, 2015
Pros: Location to the fishing landings. Clean well kept grounds and rooms. Friendly staff.
Cons: A little better breakfast and a microwave to warm things up like the oatmeal.
Location: Location is next door to Point Loma Sea Food resturant and the fishing landings. Walking distance to many good resturants.
Stayed with 2 friends for a long weekend. Hotel is nothing fancy but is clean and comfortable, just what is needed after a long day fishing or sightseeing around Point Loma. The staff is very friendly and courteous. The grounds are well kept, clean and neat. Has a pool if that is what you want but we did not use. Very basic continental breakfast of a few pastries, cereal, coffee and juice. Its a good snack while getting ready to go out for the day but you will probably need something a little more substantial to get you going. The hotel is right next door to the San Diego fishing landings which was handy for us as going fishing was the purpose of our trip. Have stayed here before and will stay here again.

Excellent location, walking distance to Humphrey's

Posted Apr 20, 2015
Pros: Great location and you can bring your dog with you! Also like that it has a refrigerator, microwave and coffee maker. Bed is comfortable.
Cons: Needs to be remodeled, it's old.
Location: Walking distance to Humphrey's by the Bay. Mitch's seafood is a great place to eat, inexpensive. Walk along the bay.
We were looking for a hotel close to Humphrey's by the Bay for a concert and didn't want to over pay for a room. Vagabond is a short 15 minute walk to the venue. It's also close to great restaurants and the bay is a stone's throw away. We decided we wanted to bring our bulldog with us & Vagabond is pet friendly. "Margarita" at the desk arranged for a room to accommodate our dog. She was very nice and helpful. Our stay was perfect!

Not bad for an older room

Posted Apr 19, 2015
The room was decent for the price, but keep in mind that it is an older building. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. Restaurants and bars are within walking distance. The only two complaints that I have is that there was small fruit flies in the room...very annoying. And hopefully you're an early riser because ppl are up at 7 in the morning making noise and slamming doors, so slim chances on sleeping in if you hung out late the night before. It is quiet at night since there's an older crowd in that area for fishing.

Outside and inside did not match photos

Posted Apr 14, 2015
Outside appearance very dirty. Bathroom window located on walkway to room. No curtains so you can look through the frosted glass and see the silhouettes of people taking a shower. Air conditioning making noise all night.

Thank you for staying with us. I apologize that our appearance did not meet expectations. My staff and I must do better on the older exterior of the property, we hope you found your guestroom and common areas clean and presentable. Thank you for your comment concerning our 2nd floor guestroom bathroom windows. We will be changing those older windows soon hopefully, but I guarantee you, you cannot see any definition through them.

Central Point Loma OK Place for a few nights

Posted Mar 22, 2015
Pros: Great pricing, great close in location, clean, nice staff, liked the remodel - was a great 2*, more like at 3*.
Cons: All in all - not much for our needs, other than a room safe and hair dryer - no biggies.
Location: Not far from any San Diego's attractions and right at the door step for fishing charters. Great walk-ways around that part of the bay area.
Right at THE fishermen's wharf area of the Point Loma area. Centre of the fishing action with good restaurants right at hand and lots to see. Hotel itself was older, however, had nice renos to make it feel updated and modern. Had a nice outdoor pool area and would be good for a few nights while exploring San Diego as close to most attractions. My stay was an overnight after a cruise and the room and location met all my requirements. Great bed, sheets, towels with an bright open window bathroom area. The room met all our requirements, except it did not have a hair dryer or room safe, but had an iron and board, micro and small room fridge. The staff were very friendly and a room was available upon our early morning arrival. We left too early the next a.m. to see the buffet, but upon check-in there was fruit, coffee and water available right in front of the check-in desk. Nothing splashy, just clean and good value for your $$. Quiet at night for us, however, depending on the time of year/month, I could see that it might be a tad noisy depending upon where your room was located. If that is the concern, ask for end units on either the lower or upper floor and away from stairs. You are steps away from great seafood restaurants, Mexican, pizza and other up beat eating areas. The fishing docks where the deep sea boats moor is right there also. Lots of activity right at your door step. Also extremely close to San Diego's airport, and surprisingly, we never heard any noise from it.
