Not near the beach but close enoughPosted Mar 5, 2014
We were pleasantly surprised by the value for money at Wyndham Garden. We made the reservation very short notice and the price was a little more than half other places like the Ocean Beach Hotel and the accomodations were much better. Staff was super helpful. Would definitely go there again!

Dated facilitiesPosted Mar 4, 2014
It was just not what we expected for the price. The room showed lots of wear. It was ok for a quick one night stay but no extra amenities.

Some IssuesPosted Mar 3, 2014
I came in late and went to the room - internet wouldn't connect and the TV didn't show a picture but it was after midnight so not much anyone could do. The walls were incredibly thin and the room near me was having some sort of party so there was nothing quiet about the hotel. They did let me have a late check out though. Close to a shopping center with Target and Ralphs.

Our StayPosted Mar 1, 2014
Enjoyed being surrounded by palm trees and buildings with red tile roofs. Seemed secluded while right on a busy road. Restaurant handy.

Filthy dirty rooms. Run down, not maintained.Posted Feb 25, 2014
Awful experience. We arrived in middle of the night after a 9 hour drive with kids. Tried two rooms. All were bad. Had to find a new hotel. It was a terrible experience. Do not send anyone to this hotel! Needs a complete overhaul, proper cleaning and maintenance, new furniture. Also had mold on walls and baths smelled of cigarette smoke!

DecentPosted Feb 24, 2014
Pros: The room set up and location
Cons: The exterior could use a good cleaning and the carpets were a bit grungy
The hotel doesnt have room service, something I should have looked into. Being a single mom I gave my son a bath, then went to order room service and they didnt have it (even tho the phone had a room service button). I ended up having to get a very tired 3 year old into the car to go find fast food. Again, I should have looked. The room was clean, but the elevator and common areas were in need of a good cleaning. The room was a great idea for a family. It had a king size bed and a half wall and bunk beds for the kids, giving a little privacy. The sheets were clean, the accent throw was a mess, I just took that off the bed. Lastly, I didnt have any change for the vending machine to buy water, front desk wouldnt/couldnt make change. Again these were all things I should have looked into.

Okay hotel very close to sea world and zoo.Posted Feb 24, 2014
Hotel was okay stayed at better but what do you expect for the price. Tickets to sea world and zoo were cheaper to buy through them so that was a plus. Location of hotel was very convenient and is close to sea world and zoo. Overall a decent hotel for a decent price.

they don't keep their promisesPosted Feb 24, 2014
I requested online and confirmed by phone an armchair in room. I need this to sleep because of back isues. They didn't have it, denied the request was made and shrugged it all off. Another issue was the fact that the parking spaces were made for baby cars. We were driving a rental compact, and could not find a place tp park, where we and the drivers on either side could get out of their cars!. The spaces were ridiculously close together..Parking was free, so you get what you paid for.

We arrived late in the evening and were greeted by Christine at the front desk. Without asking, she upgraded us from a double queen to a single king suite on the third floor. The room itself was comfortable, clean and functional. We did have a. Issue with the AC on the second night. However, unplugging it and plugging it back in, resolved the issue. As is typical with San Diego, parking is at a premium. The spaces are narrow, but manageable. Don't expect to park a full size pickup and be able to open the doors.
