Hotel rooms not as pictured, unfriendly staff!Posted May 21, 2015
While we liked the idea of a door that separated the bed from the bunk beds as pictured that surely isn't what we got. For being a family hotel they also don't offer breakfast which is a huge no-no!! The morning after our first night we ask room service to come change our bedding because we had a sick kid and bring us towels. I had to call 3 times and an hour and a half later they showed up mad at us. Like really?! Then the air in the room is essentially only by the bunk beds so it doesn't reach the main bed. We were hot most of the time. The air didn't work well either. When you set it to 70, it felt like 80, when you set it to 65 it felt even warmer! We won't stay again. Not our cup of tea for a hotel that allows us to comfortably enjoy our vacation.

Last 2 NightsPosted May 21, 2015
we spend our last two nights of a two week trip in California at this refurbished wyndham Hotel. the hotel is directly across the street from a casino sports arena.Ocean Beach is within 10 minutes. Pacific Beach, her favorite within 15 to 20 minutes away. the beds were middle of the road the pillows we're not up to Wyndham standards. the staff was helpful and friendly.

Close to the Concert CenterPosted May 18, 2015
Pros: it was withing walking distance to the concert center
Cons: making sure that the room and size of beds requested is the same as the room that is given to the people , so they do not have to change rooms again
Location: nice restaurant's in the area, close to shopping center and old town ---sea world and Sea Port Village
Arrived around 2pm, went to the front desk, the Gentleman who was at the desk, was not at all friendly and just told me to come back at 3pm, then they could help me. Very long line for check in at 3pm, However the young Lady who did help me was very warm and friendly, but at that point I saw a sign that stated we had to pay $10.00 per night to park our car, and it was limited to one car per room, nothing on web site stated that at all, so it was a surprise to me. But they did wave the parking fee, gave us our key to the room, and off we went, Upon getting into the room, it was VERY SMELLY and also had two double beds, when I ordered a room with two queen beds, call to the front desk and 30 minutes later we were finally given the key to another room, with queen beds, also smelled much better. We arrived on Fri night to attend the Neil Diamond concert, and was staying till Sunday morning, Saturday night at 10:15 some one was knocking on the doors around us, and making a lot of noise, they knocked on our door saying they were security and checking to see the if the room was occupied , called front desk to let them know and they called back saying that it showed our room was empty, sooooo again had to have them check the reservation that showed we had the room for two nights, Over all the best part of this hotel was the Lady who checked us in.

Decent hotel(motel) in crummy neighborhood.Posted May 18, 2015
Cons: Room stuffiness.
Location: Plenty of fast food joints and Target near by. Not a nice neighborhood. A lot of winos and homeless.
Hotel staff was very friendly. Hotel was not in the best surroundings. Having Dupars restaurant on site was convenient. We even ordered room service from them! Room, which was upgraded due to a very long wait for original room to be ready, was very tight. We had a bunk bed in what would normally be a sitting area and a king bed in the bedroom, the two were separated by french doors. Room was very stuffy. The air conditioner did nothing for the bedroom. Overall, I don't think i would stay here again. I am not a fan of hotels with open hallways. I prefer indoor rooms.

Some time away.Posted May 16, 2015
Pros: Bed was comfy and space was well appointed. We used the hot tub/pool all nights we were there, hot tub was not over chlorinated and pool was heated.
Cons: The TV room with the hide a bed would have benefited from a small chair besides the desk chair.
Location: Very well located, near Sea world, 15 minutes to closest beach, less than 1/2 hour to Coronado and the water front. Near many eateries & shopping.
Jr. Suite. Room was comfortable and had more than enough space for the 2 of us. Nice size refrigerator, TV in both rooms, lots of counter space on vanity. Keep your conformation with your payment information, at check out I was told that I needed to pay for our room (I had paid when I booked room) There were a few stressful moments, but I called Expedia and they took care of the issue for me.

Hotel was expected for the price and locationPosted May 14, 2015
Pros: Location for my needs. It was clean. Staff was friendly.
Cons: It is basic hotel, priced as a value, so all expectations were met. It shows it's age but, that was expected.
Location: Hotel is across from the San Deigo Sport Arena. Location is a little sketchy. Hotel is close to most things via a simple taxi service.
All & all hotel was fine and met my needs. I only require a safe and clean hotel, which is what it is. It was priced as a value showing it's age, but that is what I expected. I picked the hotel for the location (across from the San Diego Sport Arena where I had gone earlier in the day and saved money on parking). The area around the hotel was a little sketchy, but that is expected around any city center like an arena. Staff were friendly and attentive, which I want regardless of price.

Noisy location with the homeless.Posted May 5, 2015
Cons: Redefine what is called a suite! Ask the homeless to not hang around. Planting in the pool area for privacy.
My travel was for business. This is a noisy location (both air and auto traffic). Pics on-line of pool area are deceptive. This location is perfect for the low budget minded. The restaurant, Du-Par's is Denny's calibar. I booked on-line with expedia and I was quickly informed that the front desk was unable to tell me my room rate and upon check out could not furnish a receipt. My room was a suite next to the laundry room which was visited at all hours of the night by I can only guess hotel guests.

Staff friendly, business trip location worked well. Use of local gym a plus.
