The view is absolutely gorgeous. Walk out the front door and you are at the beach. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. The only problem is the noise from the train that is passing by the hotel throughout the night. I will be back!

Couldn't have asked for a better hotel for our stay at the beach. Easy beach access and many options for dining.

Nice hotel close to beachPosted Apr 6, 2015
Be prepared train comes by often. A little noisy but the hotel location is a great spot. We had a great time. The hotel was within walking distance of shops and restaurants.

Amazing experiencePosted Mar 28, 2015
Had an amazing time in Oceanside and this hotel has everything a person could want, the service was wonderful and it was very well kept and modern. It was nice to be able to walk to restaurants, the pier, and the perfect beach for swimming and surfing. The only negative is the location is beside the train track. Obviously no fault of the hotel who even has ear plugs for guests to use. However be warned that the train noise is enough to wake anyone at 6 am, as it blows horns, so not just the sound of the train moving. I imagine if you have ocean front it would be no issue, which is what I will pay extra for next time, as we will be back!

General VacationPosted Mar 18, 2015
Walking distance to the beach, Pier, and awesome restaurants! This is definitely a tourist area, but has a lot of great things to do and awesome local restaurants in short driving distance, too. Camp Pendleton is not far for military, and all of the amenities are nice. The hotel staff was very nice and helpful. The train is right out the window, so they provide ear plugs. We tuned it out after a few days. But I would definitely return!

Very nice, but be warned...Posted Mar 17, 2015
Pros: beach, pier, train, food access. Nice facility, very friendly staff.
Cons: Too pushy on the timeshare thing
Location: good location, on the beach, at the pier, close to food and the train. But also very close to the train.
It's a very nice resort, however, it is a timeshare so be prepared to be hounded about that the whole time. Also the train is just across the parking lot, so if trains bother you, don't stay here. However, the accommodations were very nice, its right on the beach and a fun marketplace a few blocks away. Also convenient access to the trains, a great pier and beach access. I would stay there again, great room for the price.

Easy to find, across street from BeachPosted Mar 13, 2015
Pros: Location is perfect.
Location: Nice beach across street pier is also across street. Commuter rail is very close if you need to use it.
Very proactive customer service, parking garage under building with free parking, nice pool and also great sky room to hang out in and watch the sunset. Nice steak house and also a great pizza place on the first floor.

Perfect location, terrific facilityPosted Mar 13, 2015
You can't beat the location of the Wyndham, just off of the pier at Oceanside. We loved the "condo" style stay, in which we didn't have to arrange our lazy schedule around housekeeping. There were all the amenities you needed in the clean room. It was within easy walking distance to a number of great restaurants and coffee shops, and there are good restaurants even in the building. And oh, that beach. Step out the front door and you are about 20 meters away from having the best vantage point possible for glorious Pacific sunsets. A knock I had heard on the hotel was the sound of the Coaster train that has to hit the horn as it goes through town. We certainly noticed it the first night, but not really afterward. And it's a fair trade-off. If you're going to stay by the beach in California, the Coaster is going to pass close by.

Pros: To my surprise, we really enjoyed, and used, the kitchen facilities. And then there was the ocean view - especially at sunset.
Cons: I have no suggestion on this point.
My wife and I like to walk on our vacations. We find we see and absorb a lot more on foot than by any other conveyance...except perhaps for the unique experience provided by streetcar, bus, or subway. We actually can lose weight on a cruise as a result. We live within easy driving distance from Oceanside and have been to Oceanside many times. We took the train this time just for fun. We did not miss our car. There were the Thursday street fair, the Friday art walk, Ruby's on the pier, and downtown Oceanside itself - all a comfortable stroll from the hotel. And there is Zig Zag Pizza, contiguous to the hotel - what a delight. The Oceanside Wyndham is a joy in and of itself. The staff are very accommodating. They act like they want to please...of course, they want to sell their time share plan. I look for comfort and security first wherever we stay. Next is location. The Wyndham Oceanside has all of these in spades. We would recommend the Wyndham to anyone and would love to make the same trip with our family.

Vacation in the sunPosted Mar 2, 2015
Location: Great shops, the Urban Wave was great, the Petite Madeline Restaurant best coffee and breakfast. The market. 333 Awesome food.
We chose this hotel because of it's location, close to the beach and within walking distance to the train station. We loved it, clean, nice room, a one bedroom with ocean view. We were on the 5th floor and it was great, the kitchen has everything you need, the washer and dryer were nice, dryer a little slow but no problem overall. The staff was great, Michael checked us in and was very helpful. Every time we ran into him on the property he always asked how everything was and how we were doing. Jon at the other desk was also great. Went above and beyond to make sure we had what we needed, golf info, restaurant ideas and great things to do in Oceanside and San Diego. We will definitely go back there again. Very clean and very elegant.
