Had a bay view room. Excellent view. This hotel is very convenient. Shuttle service is excellent. I would have liked an in room refrigerator. For the money, a good value.

Unbelievable!

Pros: The view.
Cons: Hire people that know how to treat people.
Location: San Diego Bay says it all!
My family took me there for my 60th birthday. They booked 3 rooms for 2 days. It used to be the Holiday Inn when we stayed 3 times before. This time was different. Its now a Wyndham. The first thing we wanted was 3 bay view rooms, 1 with a roll away bed. Man on phone said no problem. But of course when we got there that was impossible. We were told that the bay view rooms were to small for that. So no bay view for one family, their room was located in an entirely different building, ok not happy but we went with it. We ordered up 2 refrigerators when we made the reservation that took 1 hour to get. We had expensive Edible Fruit Arrangement & birthday cake that needed refrigeration! We waited, no problem. Check out day we loaded our suitcases in the cars parked in the expensive $24 a day parking lot, 4 x $48 = $192, OUCH! Went to breakfast leaving our expensive fruit, birthday cake & steak leftover from dinner in the refrigerator. Came back to get our food, check out, we got to the room, maid cart was outside of our door. We looked at each other wondering what was up. We walked in confronted the maid, said we have not checked out why are you here? She just keep asking for our key. Went to the refrigerator to get our food that I had put in my personal dishes from home & it was not there. She had thrown it all away. We had to dig threw the cart trash to get my dishes, she would not tell us what she had done with it. Not even a sorry from her or front desk! Run don't stay!

Great harbor views

The hotel reception and check-in was easy and quick. Check out was a snap. The room was very clean and the bay view was great. The balcony was nice for sitting and watching the sunsets. The staff were very friendly and helpful (see following exception) The only negatives were the traffic and airport noise. We got used to the noise but better windows would eliminate a lot more of it. Also, the concierge was very focused on getting us to sign up for a 2 hour presentation on Wyndham vacation club/packages and not as interested in helping us with OUR needs. (I also found out that the 2 hour presentation was more like a 3 1/2 hour time commitment from returning customers. We were there to enjoy San Diego, not go to a long timeshare-type seminar, even if they were going to give us a $150 gift card for it.

great view and location

Pros: The location and the view were the best things about this hotel.
Cons: Room keys kept dying; made several trips back to front desk to get them reactivated over the course our stay. Parking costs too high.
Location: Hotel is right along the water; lots of interesting things/restaurants within a reasonable walk
Overall we enjoyed this hotel. The room was comfortable and the decor was cleanly modern. Loved having a window aimed directly into the bay, and a balcony onto which you could step out and enjoy the great view and weather. The absolute best things about the hotel were the great view and location. You can walk to a lot of great restaurants and have direct access to the waterfront. The waterfront is clean, the air is clean, the buildings are a range of historical and modern, all very scenic and interesting. Our stay was during off season-- not crowded. The hotel itself is a bit run down in small ways, but overall nice. The extra charges for parking per day are a little high--I wish hotels weren't trending in this direction.

Pros: Great location with lots to do in walking distance
Cons: The water and soft drink machines should be replenished more frequently.
Enjoyed my stay and would come back again. The hotel was clean and staff were quite helpful.

Cons: Cannot advertise a restaurant / bar when there is none. Just about everything.
Check in was good but did not have any bellman or carts available. Room was good except had to call maintenance as there was NO AC - only blew hot - maintenance got there and said they fix it. Wait 10 minutes and no cool. Had to change rooms - no bellman but did locate a cart. NO RESTURANT OR BAR - IT HAS BEEN CLOSED FOR 6 MONTHS ACCORDING TO THE STAFF. COMPLIMENTARY BREAKFAST WAS ON PAR WITH A 1 STAR MOTEL AND AGAIN NO RESTURANT. THEY GET YOU FOR $24 SELF PARKING OR $32 FOR VALET PER NIGHT.
