On the harbor close to the Maritime museums

Posted Nov 15, 2014
Cons: Parking was very expensive at $24/day. The room smelled slightly of mildew.
Location: The Maritime Museum and USS Midway Aircraft Carrier Museum were nearby. The Seaport Village restaurants and shopping were short walk along the harbor
You either have a great view of the harbor or of downtown San Diego from your room. Large usable balconies with chairs and a small table.

The hotel is located on the bay, directly across from the Maritime Museum. One day I looked out of my 10th floor lobby to see sailboats under a blue sky--a beautiful picture! I was able to walk along Harbor Drive and enjoy the sound of the water, the quaint street vendors and the green spaces. The hotel staff were friendly and accommodating. My room was very large and spacious, as was my king bed. I would recommend this hotel to friends and family. It met all of my needs and provided those extras that made my stay special.

Paper Thin Walls

Posted Nov 3, 2014
Went for a "stay-cation". Remodeled rooms look great and are roomy in tower 3. But you can here your neighbors conversations. We knew what was going on in there rooms, and I'm sure they knew what was going on in ours. Go a block or two inland for a much better hotel for the same money and walk to see the bay.

Pros: Location, location, location!
For our first time in San Diego, we couldn't have picked a nicer place to stay and play! The staff were extremely helpful and friendly, our room was clean and comfortable and the location was perfect. We'd definitely stay here again!

Great unless attending Marine graduation

Posted Nov 2, 2014
Pros: Cleanliness - Security - Convenient location - Views.
Cons: COMMUNICATE about the sign up sheet for the shuttle to MCRD and you are NOT allowed to ride UNLESS you pay the DISCOUNTED rate thru SATO.
Location: Short walk to Little Italy.
On SEVEN separate occasions I inquired about the shuttle to the airport and MCRD for graduation. Each time I was assured there was a shuttle and given the time the shuttle ran. NEVER ONCE was I told there was a sign up for the shuttle. We paid FULL PRICE for the highest rooms (bay view, breakfast, internet included) and we were NOT so politely ushered OFF the shuttle because we did not sign up. Never ONCE on the SEVEN times I inquired was I told I needed to sign up. Guests are ONLY allowed to ride the shuttle to MCRD IF they book thru SATO and get the discounted rate. If you pay FULL PRICE you must pay cab fare (cost me $220 for family of 6 to get to and from Wyndham Bayside to MCRD for both family and graduation days). I asked 7 times and not ONCE did they say there was a sign up sheet. And you are not allowed to ride unless there are seats still available after the SATO bookings and if there were enough room on the shuttle. Also, I was told they only run ONE of the 3 shuttle buses there so if it's full you are still out of luck. Inquires I made as to shuttle ride and availability: 1) at initial call, 2) at time of booking, 3) at time they called to confirm reservation a week before arrival, 4) when I called during layover on flight there to ensure pickup at airport, 5) with shuttle driver on way from airport to hotel, 6) at time of check-in, and 7) at the front desk the morning we needed shuttle to go to MCRD.

Good location for embarking or disembarking cruise

Posted Nov 2, 2014
Pros: Location for cruising.
Cons: In-room facilities. Have a restaurant.
Location: Midway museum is in walking distance as is Horton Plaza.
The room was big and bed comfortable but there were no rails or hooks for hanging clothes or towels other than a few hangers. Really not adequate for more than an overnight stay. Had lost the lease for their restaurant so no restaurant was available. Had to go to a deli next door to eat.

Loved our San Diego Experience!

Posted Nov 2, 2014
Pros: The super king bed was the comfiest hotel bed I've ever slept in!
Cons: Unfortunately a component of the internet router broke & prevented Wi-Fi access in Tower III and a new part needed to be ordered.
Location: Within walking distance of many of the sights that downtown Dan Diego has to offer. The USS Midway Museum, The Maritime Musuem, the Trolley Tours, etc
Our stay at the hotel was very pleasant and we enjoyed our stay there. Unfortunately a component of the internet router broke 3 days into our stay & prevented Wi-Fi access to Tower III. There was nothing the staff could do as a new part had to be ordered. They were very kind and allowed us to stay in the 2 rooms we had booked until 6pm on the day of our departure free of charge as compensation for the lack of internet. This was important to us as we in San Diego on business primarily attending the VRMA Conference at the Marine Sheraton. I loved San Diego and would definitely return to the city in a heartbeat.

Pros: The hotel allowed us to check in 5 hours early. VERY nice!
Cons: Pool water was freezing!
Location: Perfect location. Lots to do. <2 miles to airport. Many great bars, restaurants, live music venues.
Really nice stay! We were in need of sleep and the room was comfortable and quiet. We loved having a balcony to have fresh air, and to relax. We heard some live music in the afternoon which was enjoyable.
