Great view

There was a great view of the bay, there were a few tours within walking distance and a nice variety of places to eat.

Convenient location but disappointing

Pros: Location and complimentary shuttle service for the airport and the zoo.
Cons: Desk staff training (how to treat guests in case of overbooking), room furnishings, cleanliness, noise proofing (maybe triple glass?)
Location: Great location.... 5 minute walk to USS Midway, ferry for Coronado island, harbour tour cruises, trolley stop. Great steak at Ruth's Chris Steakhouse.
Despite calling the hotel to confirm our booking and late arrival, we were given a room totally inferior to what we booked and the desk staff didn't inform us of this at check-in. Only when we went back down to the desk to inform them of the mistake did they admit that Wyndham had overbooked the hotel and no other room was available for that night. We had an 8 night booking and our room was changed the next day. When asked about compensation for the downgraded room the first night, the desk staff assured us that the hotel would contact Expedia but this was not done. (The matter was promptly addressed by Expedia when contacted directly by us.) Nice view from the Bayside view room we were finally given but noisy due to traffic, crosswalk, planes, ships and a nearby construction site. Cleanliness generally does not seem a top priority for this hotel. Once despite leaving the room free all day we came back to discover that the room had not been cleaned. Also have some doubts that they changed our sheets with the declared frequency (every 3 nights unless requested otherwise). Impossible to reuse towels as there are insufficient provisions for hanging towels in the bathroom for more than one guest (only 2 hooks and no towel bars). The complimentary airport and zoo shuttle is a plus and the drivers provided excellent service.

They did not help us carry our bags up and the hotel is very big and has unconvinient acces to elevatiors and different towrs. The stay was ok but not special at all. There are much better hotels in SD for almost the same price.

Good location

Some good things and some bad things about this hotel. Good thing killer location! Near great food and beaches. But I called a head of time to tell them we were going to be a late check in. Well they were having trouble locating a room for us, we ended up in a much smaller room and it was pretty sparse. There were little hairs around the toilet and we had to rinse the tub out before showering. The room above us must have been having a huge party but we didn't call the front desk so out own fault. Overall not wonderful but it could have been worse.

the room was the very front was a parking lot in the second floor, and there was always the noise of the car, and was noisy. Under the balcony, garbage is scattered and is very dirty. I never stay at this hotel anymore.

Construction and closed restaurant

Pros: Beds were comfortable, good location
Cons: Update the website, they have no restaurant serving breakfast, lunch and dinner as stated on their website.
Jack hammering at 8am on a Sunday morning and it continued all day. Also their one restaurant is closed, update your website and notify your guests when hotel is under constrution

Great stay

I was at the Wyndham from July 11-July 13, 2014. The room was perfect, clean with lots of towels! Room service was excellent and the Starbucks counter in the lobby was a plus. There were always cabs out front and a free airport shuttle. Lots of restaurant options along the habour.
