"Nice, basic, met needs"
We stayed for two nights, the continental breakfast was good. The room is relatively dated but it was clean, bed was comfortable, shower was good, and having an in room safe is an added bonus. The woman at reception was lovely and always very helpful. We went to the Mexican restaurant across the road for tea one night, that was really yum and service was prompt and friendly. It's an easy stroll to the shops in La Jolla or to the beach. We had a bottom corner unit, you could hear people walking around upstairs but it didn't bother us as they didn't stay up late.

"great stay"
The room was very spacious and comfortable and we were very surprised to find out that we had a "living room adjacent to the room. The beds were comfortable, the room was clean, having 2 bathrooms was awesome as well. I only wish we could have stayed longer to fully enjoy the room and the facilities. We were only there for an overnight stay so we are thinking of coming back and staying a few days.

"The price is right"
It's close to the airport, so during the day you'll hear lots of planes. But the airport does not operate at night so sleeping isn't a problem. It's walking distance from the midway, but the neighbourhood does feel a little sketchy

"Close to the nightlife"
This hotel I picked for a one night stay after attending a convention. I didn't mind the noise from 5th street below but some who need to wake up early might have a problem with that. It was the best price a short drive from the convention center with a small suite and breakfast was included. TV reception wasn't very good on several channels but I found a local news channel that came in well.

"Cheap, great location"
It was nice this place was so cheap right in the middle of the GasLamp District. The room did not seem to have AC so the window was open, which made it loud with being right in the middle of downtown. I was not told to bring my own lock for the locker in the room, but they will hold valuables in a storage room downstairs if need be. The facilities were nice. The bed was ok, not the most comfortable. If you do not like interrupted sleep by other roommates do not stay in a shared room. It was a pick-up location for shuttles to the airport so that was convenient.

"Beautiful House."
This house is absolutely beautiful. We stayed in the Garden Room, and it was beautiful. The bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was beautiful. They give you no special treatment like some nice B&Bs, so I give it 4 stars for beauty and cleanliness. Pros: -BEAUTIFUL -Comfortable bed -Clean -Free parking in the parking garage across the street -Key card to get in at any time -Ask for the history of the house -Close to Balboa Park Cons: -Shower took a few minutes to warm up (but it did get hot). -Walls a little thin. I could hear conversations in the foyer (although I couldn't understand them clearly) -The piano was out-of-tune. It's just a decoration I guess. (++It's signed by a Steinway) -No free parking for loading/unloading. -Breakfast was disappointing---cheap continental breakfast. Nothing special. -No chocolates, no cheese hour, no fancy shampoo (big bottles of shampoo/conditioner)

Choosing When to Visit San Diego

The only thing more amazing than the beaches of San Diego is its weather. This city enjoys some seriously perfect weather all year long. People often credit San Diego with having a Mediterranean climate. You’ll enjoy planning your trip around the city’s warm, dry summers and wonderfully mild winters. In fact, shorts and sandals are acceptable throughout the year here. What else would you expect from a place where the temperature reaches 70 degrees Fahrenheit more than 200 days out of the year? If you’re coming during January or February, packing a light jacket to stay comfortable when temperatures dip to 50 degrees Fahrenheit is advisable. You can expect it to reach 88 degrees Fahrenheit during summer’s peak.

The Secrets of Getting Around San Diego

While mild temperatures may motivate you to tour the city by foot, San Diego has a sprawling landscape that isn’t always easily explored by pedestrians. Grabbing a car rental in San Diego is the best way to guarantee that you’ll have the freedom to visit attractions at your own pace. Of course, you can always park your car and walk around or rent a bicycle once you get in the vicinity of the attractions you want to explore. The Metropolitan Transit System (MTS) provides both a trolley system and a bus route for the public to use. You can ride the rail system to get around downtown and travel near the border with Mexico. The city’s buses go as far as Hillcrest, Coronado and La Jolla.

Discover Amazing Things to See and Do in San Diego

Whether you like sunshine, family-friendly amusements, arts and culture, or fun party scenes, you’ll find plenty of things to do in San Diego. It’s important to narrow down some of the attractions you want to visit before you book your hotel. You’ll think you’ve reached heaven when you wake up each morning just a stone’s throw away from La Jolla Cove, Windansea Beach, Pacific Beach, Mission Beach, Black's Beach or Ocean Beach.

Many families find it important to stay close to top destinations such as San Diego Zoo, Old Town San Diego State Historic Park, Belmont Park and SeaWorld San Diego. Downtown’s hotels are perfect if you’re planning to catch a game at Petco Park and explore Balboa Park before enjoying a sophisticated dinner at an amazing restaurant or wine bar. Nights in San Diego are filled with the sounds of waves roaring beneath the dark sky and music and laughter pouring into the streets from great cocktail lounges and comedy clubs.
