"Lovely hotel, great location."
We have just returned from The Argonaut and cannot fault it (apart from a kettle in the room would have been nice , us Brits like our cups of tea ) . Great location right on fisherman's wharf . We were offered an upgrade to the fourth floor but had a double room on the second floor for the first night, the room was lovely but had no view just looked out onto concrete and rooms opposite. The room on the fourth floor was larger with two beds and a view of the transamerica pyramid tower. All the staff were friendly and helpful . Glad we chose this hotel , would not hesitate to stay in a Kimpton again .

"Spacious with amenities and a great location!"
For those traveling with kids this is a great place. The rooms are so spacious for a hotel with a mini kitchen, multiple bathrooms and the perfect location to go to the Wharf, Hyde Street Pier, The Cable Car, of course the chocolate shop and numbers places to eat.

"love the marriotts!!"
Enjoyed being so close to Fisherman's Wharf! Hotel was very clean, and loved the lounge area. We have stayed at a lot of Marriotts in the U.S., and they are all good!!

"Great location for the Wharf area"
After reading the reviews for this hotel we did not really want to go there. However upon arrival what a surprise, I don't know where the previous moaning people had stayed but their views did not match where we were. The room was large very clean and well decorated, the bathroom and shower were to the same standard. This hotel should be used as a base for sleeping and then visiting the local area. If you want a flashy overpriced hotel with bars, swimming pools and a gym this is not the place for you. A continental breakfast is included which is not great but was very fresh, coffee etc in the rooms as well as free WiFi for the sad people that can't do without it on holiday.

"Great location, currently under renovation."
Have stayed here many times in the past. Can't beat the convenient location RIGHT on Fisherman's Wharf. Currently under heavy renovation, but things are sectioned off well. Currently no patio or pool, but that should be done soon. We were lucky and stayed in a newly renovated room which while not very big, it was laid out well. The bench seat by the window is pleasant for sitting in the sun. The elevators are definitely old, but functional. I'm sure these will get upgraded with the renovation. The bathroom could use more shelf space to lay out your toiletries. To get the most out of your parking fee, you can stay parked in the lot past your checkout time (until 6pm). But with the great location, you can walk to literally everything. We like to people watch from the top of the parking lot. Especially nice at sunset. Clear view of Alcatraz directly across from the hotel. We had a view of Coit tower and the Transamerica Pyramid from our room window. Dart board and backgammon set in the room were a hit with our son. The big flat screen has really nice HD quality (if you watch TV). Beds were very comfortable, but we were out all day so we came back dog tired, too.

"We've stayed here twice, and we'd stay here again!"
Yes, it's an older motel, but we don't have issues with that like some people do. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was very clean and the beds were extremely comfortable. We occasionally heard some noise from the outside, but nothing that was bothersome. There is a 7-11 and Subway right across the street which was convenient for when we needed drinks, snacks or something quick for breakfast. The price was very reasonable for such a great location right on the Wharf. The only problem that we had was that the water temperature in one of our rooms wasn't very hot in the shower, but nothing to get upset about. We have stayed here before and had a good experience, so we went back and were not disappointed. We would definitely stay here again.
