“Very close to Candlestick park.”
the Alpine Inn is very close to Candlestick Park you can walk there if you want....we didn't because we were tailgating but it was tons of fun.
“Good place to stay”
This was the first time that I was staying on this hotel and the overall experience was really good; is an small hotel but it's really good.
“Best view of the Cow Palace!”
This hotel is not fancy or expensive. The largest bed was a queen size. It was perfectly adequate except the bed made a popping sound. I brought it to the manager's attention and he seemed genuinely concerned. We just needed a clean place near San Francisco to stay for the night and this served us well.
“NOT a boutique motel by any means”
check in staff was friendly , room was VERY basic, fridge, coffee maker , one packet of coffee, stale creamer , and sugar . TV old and broken ( only got one channel) Furniture dated and simplistic . The room was clean , bathroom very basic , soap dispenser on the wall, shower basic broken cold water knob, just very very basic . Once again soap dispenser on the wall. Let me say I left there feeling extremely ripped off . It was right next to where I would be working so that is why I picked it . This is not a boutique hotel, its a simplistic sort of rundown motel, The plus right next to Cow Palace, staff friendly , room clean. If you want to pay alot of money for what should be a cheap motel go ahead and book it .
“consistent value”
We stay here about once a year and the price is great for San francisco.Great to have free parking near your room. The rooms are nicely decorated and comfortable but the mattress was hard in or room this time. The continental breakfast was very basic-go out if you want a hearty breakfast!
“Good, but not recommended”
I stayed here for 4 nights in late September. I'd not stay again for several reasons, and I'll get to that later. First let me tell you about the positives. The hotel manager and his family are top notch. The maintenance people are top notch too. The neighborhood is safe and clean. The parking is right next to your room, and the location is has easy access to downtown SF. My first night I could not sleep. The rooms have no sound insulation, being very old as they are. You can hear conversations in the next room, and in my case, personal relations, which, yes, are funny, but not at 4AM. I ask to be moved to a different room and the manager did so. However, the air-conditioner wasn't working. So, the maintenance guys swapped out one that was, and that took all of 20 minutes. So this is the high point for the hotel--the employees, of which all deserve raises. The bad is that the rooms are very small, smaller than a motel six, old looking, despite new paint and renovation, and have old furniture. It's just a little far from SF for me also. The deal breaker, however, is the price. Also, it's no where near what an "Inn" is being more like a cheap motel. I've stayed in places like this outside of SF for 50 bucks a night. I stayed in Emeryville last time, in the Hilton, which is about 10 minutes from DT SF, and it was less than the Alpine, including parking. The room was twice the size and much nicer. Plus room service and 24 hour desk.
“reasonable and clean”
NIce hotel, lots of space, clean, staff very friendly. Little area for breakfast, but just enough to grab a bite to get you going. Nothing fancy, but reasonable price and clean and confortable. Away from the tourism area but close enough to drive to San Francisco in 15 minutes, very close to the airport.
“Great Deal”
Stayed for one night. Room was nicely furnished and clean. Staff friendly as well. Out of a 3 week trip, this was the best hotel in this price range.
“Clean, Quaint- I Was Impressed”
I stayed two nights at this place. I did not know what to expect as it was suggested to me on the telephone by Louis from Expedia (thanks Louis!). I had a reservation with a big hotel chain but my flight was postponed. I called Expedia and they got right on the phone with the big hotel. Turns out they couldn't confirm my reservation (whatever that meant). Louis suggested Alpine Inn. It had a decent rating so I took it. Am I glad I did. The people at the front desk were very nice. The sleeping room was clean ( I checked it all out before bringing my bag in). The bathroom was clean. The shower stall was decent. It could perhaps use a recalking but it was clean. The TV did not have many channels but I wasn't there to watch it anyway. The bed was very comfortable. That was the best night's sleep I have had in a long time. I had a car and there was a parking spot right in front of my room. As far as proximity to San Francisco, it was not far from the Daly City BART station. A very easy ride up a few streets, around a few corners, and I was there. The BART station was decent and I felt safe there. The place is located right next to the Cow Palace. In fact if you come out of your room and look to the street you can see the Cow Palace right in front of you. The place is really close to San Francisco if you choose to drive into the city. All in all I had a great stay there. I stayed alone and felt safe and comfortable. I told my husband we should stay there next time we go together.
“A mixed bag”
While the hotel was clean, roomy, and the staff friendly, it felt like they hadn't quite finished it. There was no bedspread, wall decor, or towel bars. The towels were thin and breakfast still wasn't out when we left. The place has potential, and it fit our basic needs, just needs a little tlc.
