Great private hotel

Posted Jul 16, 2015
I was looking for something cheap for the night and got this place for a great discount for the one night we stayed. It was very cute and private, it felt like a small apartment. The breakfast wasnt traditional but it was good! I probably will come back to this place for the next time Im in town.

sauberes schönes kleines Hotael am Berg

Posted Jul 14, 2015

SFSU-a couple of buses away

Posted Jul 3, 2015
Needed a place that was relatively close to SFSU. By car it's about 15 minutes away. By bus it's about 30 minutes to 50 minutes away depending on time of the day. Free parking and Wi-Fi is a plus. Not much around to eat. I would stay here again.

Staff was very nice.. Beds were OK. Walls paper thin. Neighbors slept with TV on and I heard it all night. Parking sucks if you have a truck or SUV.

OK for San Francisco

Posted Jun 28, 2015
Pros: Clean, quiet
Cons: Headboards, lighting
Location: Afraid to walk in that neighborhood. Pretty sketchy
Staff very nice, but the hotel is situated in a very run down part of town. For San Francisco, the price is cheap, so you get what you pay for. Parking is right outside your room, which is nice. Free continental breakfast is nice too. They could use some better TVs, change out the headboards which are filthy, and maybe improve the lighting in the bathrooms. Overall, a nice quiet hotel, but don't expect a four or five star experience. Ive stayed downtown a few times, and paid much more and wasn't able to access my car easily, so the trade offs are always there. Not much you can do about the neighborhood, besides tearing down that ugly Cow Palace building.

Overnight stay

Posted Jun 4, 2015
Location: Cow palace located close
I booked this hotel for us as a starting point on our vacation. We had just flown across the country. It was relatively easy to find. This hotel was not horrible, it served as a good stopping point for very tired travelers. The bed was OK. So this hotel is OK for a one night stay. Walls are very thin and you can hear other people. Not a personal favorite.

College Pick Up

Posted May 31, 2015
Pros: Price, and free parking
Cons: Breakfast area
Location: DId not like the location at all
Was in SF for 3 days to pick up kids SFSU. Had I been there for a vacation, not too sure I would stay here. Location is not the best and there is nothing within walking distance. Did not see any restaurants in the vicinity that were inviting. The Alpine Inn was very pleasant, super nice, rooms were old but very clean. Bathroom was a bit old, shower stall was very small, towels very thin and not enough of them. The continental breakfast is NOTHING like they picture on their website. Area is in the very small lobby. It is basically a table with some food on it. Cold cereal, which were not labeled. OJ and milk in tupperware like containers. Bagels, cream cheese and prepackaged danish. Yogurts were also available. They provide very small trays so that you can bring food back to your room, but balance is key here! Their was a toaster available, which was balanced on a table off to the side....again balance is key here!. Coffee was good! Hot and available all day. No place to sit and only 1 person can get food at a time. Needs some improvement! Fresh fruit would be nice too! Parking was plenty. The outside needs some sprucing up...alot of dead plants/flowers...
