GREAT location

Hotel was clean and comfortable. Wine/beer hour was fantastic - great way to meet with others that are visiting the area. Restaurant was average at best.

Summer 2014 San Francisco Vacation

Posted Aug 25, 2014
Pros: The location, the staff, the room... everything was excellent!
Cons: We ate at the restaurant in the hotel, The Blue Mermaid, and it wasn't nearly on par with the hotel. Food - so,so; wait staff - not attentive.
Location: Being at Fisherman's Wharf provides access to the all the restaurants and shops in the area, access to tours, and easy access to the cable cars.
The Argonaut is awesome! The hotel is in a great location, the staff was attentive and friendly, the room was very comfortable and serviced in a timely fashion. Overall, nothing but great things to say about this hotel. Keep up the great work Argonaut!

Great place to stay

Posted Aug 25, 2014
Pros: Loved the wine welcome hour and that it was pet friendly.
Location: There were several stops nearby for all types of transportation. Whether it was a bus tour, street car and even the cable cars.
Wonderful location on Fishermans Wharf. Lots of close restaurants nearby. They made our 20th wedding anniversary very special. Thank you so much. We would definitely come back again.

The Argonaut Hotel

Posted Aug 25, 2014
Pros: The beds - and breakfast - once they got my order right.
Cons: Staff could be a bit more alert to helping out.
Location: Fisherman's Wharf is a bit of a tourist trap but there's lots to do and great shops a short walk away.
The Argonaut is a quiet and comfortable place to stay. Staff were friendly but the overall impression was that they were a bit distracted and disorganised - we arrived laden with suitcases after a 12 hour transatlantic flight and none of the doormen offered to help us. In fact, one of them opened the door for me and pointed out where reception was as I staggered through the door carrying two cases and my handbag! At breakfast too, they got my order wrong and tried to persuade me it was my misunderstanding - I am vegetarian and the food arrived with bacon when I expressly asked for it without. All of that aside, the hotel is close to to bay, ideal for families, the rooms are spacious and the beds are really comfortable!

Beautiful Hotel

All the staff are courteous and helpful. The hotel is located a little far from pier 39, and the Alcatraz Island boarding area. Overall beautiful, clean and spacious rooms.

Comfortable hotel, close to everything!

Posted Aug 22, 2014
Pros: The wine tasting by far was such a great way to socialize (and the free drinks are wonderful!)
Cons: If anything, I would have liked blackout curtains on the windows, the plantation shutters dont totally block out all the light but its a minor point.
Location: The wharf, Pier 39, Ghirardelli Sq are all right there, close to everything.
Had a great stay at the Argonaut, I highly reccommend it. The staff were helpful and friendly, I received a free upgrade at the front desk (a little charm goes a long way!) my room was super spacious and comfortable, nice beds/bedding, plush robes and booties for your feet. The lobby is great, they do a free wine/beer/sangria tasting every night from 5-6ish...definitely take advantage, very generous pour and a great way to meet and chat with other guests. Also, the Powell/Hyde cable car is right on the corner so its a fun way to jump on one of the vintage trolleys and head up to Chinatown, Union Sq etc. Great stay, I would go back.

Great Location....OK facilities.

Posted Aug 19, 2014
Pros: Location
The location cannot be beat right at the Wharf. The $50 to park is an irritant, and the amount it seems to be the norm for the area hotels. The room was OK, I do not see the attraction. Probably not stay again.

The price doesn't reflect the room but it's location is one the best in SF.

Hi, Traveler, I know things can be a little pricier over some summer dates, though , for future trips, please know that we have three tiers of rooms: the standard, deluxe (exterior view) and view (facing the Golden Gate Bridge or Alcatraz). Those can be fun, especially if you plan to relax in your room in the afternoons!

Pros: Staff, facilities, evening drinks
Cons: Nothing
Location: Great location. Close to the nice touristy parts of town
The small details they provide that made our trip so much nicer
