Great Location! Great Hotel! Great Staff!Posted Oct 16, 2014
Pros: The staff and how friendly and helpful they were. They are very accommodating and eager to offer suggestions on restaurants.
Location: There is so much to do within walking distance. Shopping, restaurants, booking tours. To travel to downtown public transportation is a short walk.
The Argonaut Hotel was absolutely awesome. The location is perfect to walk to all of the tourist spots on Fisherman's Wharf, next to cable car boarding and Ghiradelli Square is close. The staff is very friendly, eager to serve and give great ideas on places to eat. The hotel is clean, with spacious and very comfortable rooms. We have already suggested to other travelers we met that they should stay here the next time they are in town. If we get back to San Francisco we will definitely stay there.

Extortionate price PLUS no free wifiPosted Oct 14, 2014
Cons: Provide free wifi. Improvice standard of in-room food, front of house staff abrasive, bell boys and concierge helpful.
Location: Right in heart of Fishermans Wharf, beside Cable-car terminal so very convenient. Easy walk to beach, Hyde St Pier museum and Golden Gate.
I paid 5* prices for this hotel but even for a 4* it was disappointing. Very expensive, no free wifi, room smelled musty. No free water in room. Plus front of house staff tried to charge $350 for going 1 minute over a 1hr late checkout. Best bit is the location but wouldnt go back.

Experience at ArgonautPosted Oct 14, 2014
Pros: Everything. Wonderful location
Cons: Can't think of anything.
Location: Location was excellent. Restaurants, bars, Fisherman Wharf were all near by. Cable car turn around is right across from the street.
It was our 45 anniversary and it couldn't have been a better experience. From the minute we stepped out of the cab until we left for home was one wonderful and pleasant experience. The staff was pleasant and most helpful. The doormen were fun and inviting. The Mermaid Restaurant was always a welcome sight after hours of sight seeing and exhaustion. Food and staff were both god so didn't feel we had to go elsewhere to look for dinner.

Excellent LocationPosted Oct 13, 2014
Cons: With the amount of money we paid for our stay we would have loved for the hotel to have a shuttle service for our airport commute.
Location: Location was excellent, the ease of having our scheduled tours within walking distance was a great help.
We arrived early morning and were mentally prepared to have to leave our bags with the front desk until our room was available. The lady at the desk advised us that she did have a room available and checked us in. The hotel was in an excellent location, everyone was always friendly and pleasant. Unfortnately our room was facing the back side of the building so the view was not as great as we were told it would be. As first time visitors to San Francisco, we were hoping to wake up to a view of the bay.

Great hotel on Fisherman's WharfPosted Oct 13, 2014
Pros: The complimentary wine tasting, the friendly and helpful staff and the cleanliness of the hotel. We also liked its location, handy for tourists.
Cons: It would have been helpful to know in advance whether the room had a view or not as we would have considered this further.
Location: The hotel is right in the heart of Fisherman's Wharf and handy for lots of tourist attractions - ferry to Alcatraz, Coit Tower and the cable cars.
The Argonaut Hotel is lovely - quirky and unusual in décor, but the staff are fantastic. The hotel offers a complimentary wine tasting every evening from 5-6pm which is great. On arrival, we were allocated an internal facing room whose only view was across to another room on the other side. I asked for a room with a view and we were moved with no problem to a room with a view of the park and cable car stop, it was lovely. There was, however, an additional fee of $25 per night. Given that we were spending 5 nights at the Argonaut, we felt a view was important.

Pleasant hotel in ideal location.Posted Oct 5, 2014
Pros: Comfortable and spacious rooms. Coffee maker in room. Free wine and beer.
Cons: Nothing really.
Location: Close to cable car which is very convenient for taking a trip into the city. Short walk to Pier 33 attractions, little further to Pier 39 (Alcatraz).
This was our first stop on a tour of San Francisco, Los Angeles and Las Vegas. The Argonaut Hotel is located at Fishermans wharf, just two blocks from the Big Bus tour (recommended to get your bearings). The hotel staff were welcoming and the guest rooms spacious and comfortable. An added bonus was the happy hour from 5 - 6pm where free!!! beer and wine was served. The Argonaut set the standard for our future booked hotels.

Good location, average staffPosted Oct 4, 2014
We stayed of 5 days and when we checked in we asked for an upgrade, when they said no we accepted it but after getting to the room rang down and asked if we could get and upgrade for only a few nights in our stay which they said was possible (why did they not tell us this at checkin). When we had to move rooms the reception staff were very rude when telling us a bought how to change rooms. Additionally they charged us for additional services that we either did not use or not acceptable for the level of star hotel we used (e.g we asked the concierge to book us tickets to the baseball they told us no..go book it yourselves online..when we did that they tried to charge us $15 to print the tickets! I complained and despite them telling us they would reverse the charge, it was still on the bill when we checked out, although they took it off it was annoying to ask. In saying this location was great, bar staff at the Mermaid were great

Perfect location for walking.Posted Oct 2, 2014
Good experience overall. Though my friend and I booked the room in advance, we did not get the bay view we had requested.
