Comfortable & Clean: Easy access to SFO and BART

Posted Jun 23, 2015
We were looking for a place with easy access to the SFO airport (and that was less expensive than downtown SFO). The El Rancho was just perfect. It is a large complex. Buildings are not new but extremely well kept. Room was spotlessly clean and comfortable. Free shuttle service every 30 minutes to SFO airport. BART is accessible by going back to the airport (airport station) or by walking about 3/4 of a mile (Millbrae station) or by taxi (Millbrae station to hotel - about $5 on the meter). Millbrae to Embarcadero in downtown San Francisco via BART about $5 and 35 minutes. Hotel serves continental breakfast starting at 4:30AM (super for those who have early flights out). Breakfast included several food options and nice buffet service. The El Rancho impressed me as being an extremely efficiently run hotel in a great location where management truly understands the needs of its guests. I would not hesitate to stay there again.

new and clean

This BW is better than other ones I have stayed. Its outside looks like Inn but it is very clean inside. The furniture looks new. I am satisfied with it.

Poor night staff . . . . great room

Posted Jun 17, 2015
Pros: The room and bathroom were clean.
Cons: The front desk staff's attitude could use an adjustment!
Location: There were lots of eating places nearby within walking distance. It is right downtown.
After a late delayed flight we called for the shuttle. A snippy, rude response, 2 calls and an hour later it showed up. At check in we were given desultory, brief directions to our room which was about a block away. After dragging all our luggage that distance, our room was not on the second floor as we had been told. Another phone call and condescending response resulted in me hanging up on them and we finally found our room on our own - on the third floor! That being said, the room was very nice, clean, and comfortable. The morning shuttle was on time and everything else went well.

Fine hotel close to the airport

Posted Jun 14, 2015
Pros: Overall, close to a 4 star facility
Cons: This hotel appears to be a "Gateway" hotel for families traveling to Asia. They have automobile storage for folks leaving the country. Kids running.
Location: Airport
Appears to be a new hotel. Excellent staff, facilities, rooms, amenities. Stayed here overnight before flying home. Very convenient to airport. Once negative was children running hallways at 11:00pm. Excellent takeaway traveller breakfast.

A comfortable and convenient stop over for SFO

Posted Jun 9, 2015
Pros: Good room size with extensive range of TV programs. Wasn't there long enough to enjoy the facilities.
Cons: I needed an electicity powerpoint adaptor but they didn't have one. Should be considered if they have large number of overseas guests.
Location: Wasn't there long enough
Needed a convenient, comfortable stopover for an early flight out next day. The hotel fits the bill with a relaxed atmosphere, good facilities and value for money.

The place to stay when flying from San Francisco

Posted May 25, 2015
If you need to park and fly or arrive without a car and need a place for the night before flying this Best Western covers all your needs. On the half hour shuttles to and from the airport; courteous drivers, efficient parking and check in are a plus. This is an older property; however the rooms have very comfortable new beds, pillows and linens, flat screened TV. This is a two story property without an elevator so requesting a ground floor room is important when booking if needed. The complimentary breakfast is very good....a step above continental. It closes at 7:30 when the restaurant opens. Restaurant menu is good and the food and service is excellent. We have been using this property exclusively for over 15 years when we fly from SFO.

Good bar & restaurant. Very accommodating . Shuttle service very efficient. Once you got used to The age of the hotel and some funny things like the bathroom it was fine for a quick overnight at th Airport.

Good Location

Posted May 11, 2015
Pros: Looked recently updated; good location, restaurant on premises, pleasant personnel.
Cons: Shower worked in an odd way; hot water seemed to go off and on.
Location: On El Camino Real, a major artery. Several large shopping areas. Many restaurants - some fast good and some better cuisine.
Traveled to the area for a seminar and found everything I needed in the area convenient to get to.

Great option near the airport

Posted May 6, 2015
Pros: Clean, comfortable, rooms are nice and large
Cons: Shuttle goes straight to the airport
Location: Airport
Great for a clean and comfortable option near the airport without breaking the bank. Definitely a far cut above budget hotels. Free breakfast and shuttle is a nice touch, although the shuttle having to stop at other hotels on the way was a bit obnoxious (made the trip twice as long).
