Great location close to fisherman's wharf

Posted Oct 20, 2014
We stayed at The Tuscan because we were taking a cruise out of San Francisco. We loved the location as it is within walking distance of Fishermans Wharf. We didn't need to rely on taxis, although they were always available at the entrance to the hotel. We were somewhat surprised at how small our room was. There are probably much bigger rooms there. Although ours was very small, the room was very modern with extremely comfortable beds and pillows. Would I stay here again? Yes.

Honeymoon in San Fran

Posted Oct 18, 2014
Pros: Great bed - so comfy.
Location: Near Fisherman's Wharf, the trams into town etc. Fab irish coffee bar nearby but lethal!
This was the first leg of our honeymoon. We arrived exhausted after a long trip & found the hotel staff welcoming & the room spacious & the bed luxurious. It was in a good location for all we wanted to do & was good value for money. The free wine hour was fun when we managed to be in for it & to be able to get a free coffee in a takeaway cup for those early morning trips was great. Would definitely stay here again if we ever manage to come back.

Convienent location.

Near to the tourist areas of Fisherman's Wharf and Pier 39, but also easy to walk in the other direction to avoid those areas.

Perfect.

Pros: Everything. Great rooms, great staff and located near to everything, Fishermans Wharf is only 5 mins away and SF's famous tram is just round the corner
Cons: Nothing.
Location: Fishermans Wharf 5 mins away, SF trams a must, Alcatraz, cycle the Golden Gate Bridge and Ghirardelli's- a chocolate heaven!!
This was our first trip to the west coast and we couldn't have chosen a better hotel to start off our 3 week fly drive around California. The hotel itself is of a very high standard, spotlessly clean and well maintained and the staff are extremely professional and helpful in all aspects of the local area and tourism suggestions. The daily wine and nibbles meet (which is free to guests) is a great idea to chat with people who can give you advice on where to go, things to see and places to eat. We will definitely return to SF and The Tuscan will be our place to stay.

A good all round hotel

Posted Oct 1, 2014
Pros: On the door step of all the tourist attractions of Fisherman's Wharf, numerous eating places. Complimentary wine, newspapers, apples, iced water
Cons: nothing, I would re-visit and recommend to any one.
Location: This hotel could not be better placed for all San Francisco has to offer, from the bay, to the city, with numerous forms of transport within a stone's
super hotel, with helpful, friendly staff. Rooms smallish but adequate. I asked for a quiet room and was very pleased with what we were given

Overpriced for what you get!!!!

No frills. 50.00 per day parking charges. Not worth the 400.00 Saturday night cost.

Thanks for staying with us and for taking the time to comment. Indeed it is a little more expensive to stay in the fisherman's wharf area. Not only are we the top tourist attraction in SF, we are one of the top 10 tourist attractions in the United States. Being right in the middle of fisherman’s wharf, you can’t beat the location for shops, restaurants and all the activities near the wharf and around Pier 39. Parking is without question expensive in San Francisco. The Tuscan offers Valet only parking with unlimited in/out privileges. The price for parking is $50.00 plus tax per night for standard sized cars. Some guests find other alternatives at local parking facilities or find street parking as a viable option. We do suggest that parking on the street or at local facilities which do not offer in/out privileges may have some drawbacks and involves some risk. Of course, the ease, convenience and personalized attention of using our valet parking service are well worth the expense for many of our guests. In fact, our prices are very competitive with area hotels who provide valet service parking. I actually suggest not even bringing a car to SF unless absolutely necessary as our public transportation system is awesome.
