Good location bit shabby

Posted Apr 15, 2015
Hotel in a good location for fishermans wharf. Underground parking ok. Hotel is in need of an update as it is quite shabby. Not much room in the lobby for breakfast. No room with a view except for air conditioning unit! Think the price is for location. Apart from the guy who checked us in the staff were nice.

Good value for money, great location

Posted Apr 14, 2015
Pros: Value for money, great breakfast, helpful and friendly staff
Cons: Room was a bit stuff with little ventilation
Location: Easy to walk to Fisherman's Wharf, Alcatraz landing, Lombard Street.
We stayed in this motel for 3 nights - we are a family of 4, and were able to stay in one room with 2 double beds. It was great value for money. The location was brilliant for access to Fishermans Wharf, the Alcatraz landing etc. The breakfast provided was excellent with cereal and pastries and plenty of coffee :). Overall, would throughly recommend this motel.

Good value hotel for San Francisco

Posted Apr 14, 2015
Pros: Good value. Free parking, free light breakfast. Not far on foot/bus to Fishermans Wharf area.
Cons: 4/5 star hotel this isn't, but in two nights spent 16 hrs total at hotel (sleep/b'fast), otherwise busy tourists so comfortable, clean & tidy enough
Location: Good way of seeing San Francisco is on the hop on/off, 'Big Red Bus'. Tickets sold at hotel and bus stop just outside, goes over both bridges
Reception was fine. Room was at the back without a view, but with limited traffic noise, which could be an issue in the front (road) facing rooms. Room was clean and tidy. Ideal hotel for exploring San Francisco.

Great location and a great price!

Posted Apr 11, 2015
Really pleased with the location of this hotel. It is very walkable for most downtown places and restaurants. The rooms were very large for a city hotel and the price was terrific considering that it included breakfast (ok but nothing hot) and free parking.

Good Budget Hotel

Posted Apr 2, 2015
Pros: Hours breakfast is served. Courteous staff. Free parking is a major plus! Location is great! Design of the room.
Cons: Shower cleanliness, upgrade windows and tiles. Better pillows! Do not reuse stained towels.
Location: Chinatown, Golden Gate Park, and the wharf are very close. Good restaurants and shopping are walking distance too.
Hotel staff were helpful, courteous, and friendly. The room was nice for a deluxe king size. We had a fold out sofa, if we needed it. The design of the bathroom was wonderful, sink and counter space outside and shower/toilet behind closed doors. This design allowed for the two of us to work our magic at the same time without crowding each other. There is free parking for guests which was invaluable since the city has limited parking. However, if you are looking for a space at the end of the evening, you might be squeezing into a tight spot. The continental breakfast was efficient for a quick "eat and run" before you head out for the day. The hours for the breakfast made it nice for us to sleep in a bit before we headed out. However, the single paned windows allowed for lots of road noise and street conversations to float into our room in the middle of the night or early morning. There was hair in the shower left from the previous occupant that never got cleaned up while we were there (5 nights). The hotel is showing it's age with cracked tiles in the bathroom, but it is reasonably priced. The bed is comfortable, but the pillows were too soft and uncomfortable. My husband likes soft pillows, but wasn't able to sleep with these pillows. Stained towels left in my bathroom and folded in such a way to hide the stains, though they were washed, did not make me feel great.

Disappointing

Posted Mar 31, 2015
Pros: The breakfast was nice-they looked as if they were trying to improve the rooms but only part way done.
Cons: Finish fixing up the hotel-train staff to be more accommodating clean better
Location: The location is good
When checking in we where very disappointed with our room-dirty and small-the staff was not very helpful to accommodate us. We then were overcharged to get a bigger room that night since they would not let us just check out. They didn't seem the least worried we were unhappy.

Nice hotel in a nice area of SF

Posted Mar 30, 2015
Pros: Location was the best, price was fair, the breakfast was good.
Cons: Perhaps the breakfast can have a better variety of fruits, breads, etc.
Location: Cable car, ocean walk, etc.
We (a family with two child) spent two nights in the Buena Vista Motor Inn and we had a great time. The hotel is located at Lombard and Gough, very strategic area to enjoy what SF can offer. Cable car is close (Hyde station), the ocean is very close. You can catch buses very close too. So, very easy to move around from this location.

Dear Tiago, We are very lucky to have such a convenient location where guest can easily get to all the places with in a short distance. It's also nice that we are also apart from the touristy crowd but still within walking distance. I hope you were able to enjoy the rest of our great neighborhood, where we have great boutique shopping and a nice selection of fine dining. Hope to see you again on your next stop in San Francisco. Not recommended for the price...

Posted Mar 30, 2015
Pros: Location is good, parking included.
Cons: A much lower price is needed.
This Hotel would be fine at a much lower cost. Our room was tucked away in the back with no view, Check In time was 3 p.m., the room was small, bathroom fan switch broken, and the complimentary breakfast rolls were stale... all this for $239 / night (22 hours). Stay at a better place for this price range! Not Recommended.

Dear Zephyr, I am sorry you did not feel that we were a good value for your stay. It is pretty standard for a 3pm check in time throughout the industry this is to guarantee that rooms are ready from our 12pm check out. The bathroom fan switch being broken is not acceptable and should have been repaired. I have taken the problem up with my staff to solve the problem. Unfortunately we do have rooms on the side of the building that do not have any views but we will move any guest upon request as soon a other rooms are available the next day. We have our pastries delivered fresh every morning and should never be stale and we truly apologize. I have notified the bakery to find out what might have happened. Yours Truly. Great price, great location

Posted Mar 23, 2015
Pros: It's location, price, cleanliness, parking and room conditions
Cons: Some more counter space in the bathroons
Location: You can walk to Ft. Mason, the Presidio, cable cars, and Fisherman's Wharf.
We were in San Francisco as tourists. Much is walkable, if you know how to avoid the hills. The ability to take your car in and out of the garage helps for the other things. The rooms are sizeable, though the bathrooms are small. The upstairs deck and sunroom are a wonderful addition. The price is fantastic.

Dear Don, We believe we are one of the best values' in the city because we do not charge $45 to $75 for daily parking. Our location which is outside of the touristy areas but close enough for a nice walk is why so many guests stay with us. We had just completed our spring planting for our 3rd floor deck and are so happy you were able to take advantage of the great views of the Golden Gate Bridge. We hope you will come back soon.
