San Fran StayPosted Jun 25, 2014
Pros: The staff was friendly and always helpful with questions and directions.
Cons: I was surprised to hear that it could take from 30-45 minutes to have the valet bring your car around.
Location: Location was great. You are close to all major forms of public transportation. There is good shopping near by.
The hotel was clean and very close to all forms of public transportation. The room was a little small but overall my stay was great.

Small BathroomPosted Jun 20, 2014
Pros: It was close restaurants and transportation.
Cons: Train the staff to be more friendly and accommodating.
Location: It's close to Union Square and lots of stores to shop at and is walking distance to the Ferry Building and China Town.
The bathroom is so small that one would hit his head on the counter when sitting on the toilet. The staff was very unfriendly, except for the concierge. He was friendly and helpful. I was not told that there were complimentary coffee and newspaper. Found out on the last day of my stay by walking around the first floor.

Older hotel close to Union Square.Posted Jun 12, 2014
Pros: The Cartwright was certainly a cheaper alternative to the recommended conference hotels. My room, on the 3rd floor away from the street, was quiet.
Cons: The staff at reception were not especially welcoming. Efficient, yes, but not especially friendly.
Location: Close to Union Sq shopping and restaurants. Within walking distance of a BART station and the Moscone Center.
I stayed in this hotel while attending a conference at the Moscone Center. I was looking for cheaper alternative to the recommended conference hotels, and the Cartwright Hotel was quite acceptable. The walk from the hotel to the Moscone Center was under 20 minutes, and I enjoyed the exercise twice a day during my conference. My room was smallish, and the bathroom was minimal, but both were acceptable for my purposes. The WiFi connection worked well for me. The desk in the room was small but adequate. The relatively large walk-in closet had a cheap but working iron and ironing board.

Stuffy small room. No air con. Felt weird.Posted Jun 10, 2014
Room 802 had an uncomfortable and uneasy feel about it. Not only was it hot and noisy. But it felt so bad I checked out at 5am as I didnt sleep at all. I wouldnt recommend it to anyone that want a comfortable nights sleep.

Great location, good price for San FranciscoPosted Jun 8, 2014
Great location and historical hotel. Clean, tidy, no food available, but free coffee in the morning and 20% off at the diner down the road. Very close to Union Square. Bottle opener located in the bathroom was a little odd.
