Not fancy but very clean and friendly!Posted Feb 24, 2014
Pros: Clean. The rooms and beding were very clean.
Cons: It could use ugraded decor but it wasn't a big deal
Location: We walked to nicks crispy tacos and really enjoyed the food there.
Me and my husband stayed here for three nights over a long weekend. The guy at the front desk was always helpful and friendly. Our room wasn't fancy but it had all the basics plus a large mini fridge and microwave. It smelled like it had been freshly cleaned and she sheets smelled like fabric sofner. It was close enough to walk to just about anywhere we wanted to go. The area wasn't bad and I didn't feel nervous to walk around at night. For the price its worth checking out.

Hotel downtown. Limited parking.Posted Feb 17, 2014
Location: We walked to Ghiradelli square from the hotel. It was about 12 blocks.
Hotel was very outdated, although it was clean. Needs an upgrade. We had a 12 passenger van and so parking was limited, but we made it work. Free Breakfast? Packages of oatmeal, granola bars, apple and a yogurt. You get what you pay for.

Rude staffPosted Feb 10, 2014
My party and I arrived around 1:30 in the morning. The man who checked us in was rude and made it seem like an inconvenience that we were there at all. The continental breakfast was sub par. When we went to get breakfast, the woman manning the desk accused me of checking in under false pretenses. She stayed i booked the room for one person not 3. Completely false!!! Why would one person need two beds?! Then we pointed out that she got me confused with another guest at the hotel and she did not apologize for the mix up. By far the rudest staff i have ever encountered in my travels.

Things to knowPosted Jan 23, 2014
Cons: Night staff to watch over the noise.
Location: Had a great dinner at the Bell Tower a couple blocks away, recommended by the desk staff.
Parking is tight, and can be difficult to park a large vehicle. Take your smallest car. No staff on site after 11 PM. Dialed 0 and no answer. Noisy guests talking and drinking outside on the balcony late into the night one of the two nights. Wifi worked. Breakfast was oatmeal, food bars, packaged sweet rolls, apples, coffee and juice. Must take back to your room.

Nice quality in low pricePosted Jan 17, 2014
The overall quality is great. The room has everything you need. The spring bed is little bit uncomfortable but given the low price, it is bearable. The neighborhood is quiet and safe. Has cvs one block away. I would recommend it if you have a limited budget and want a hotel with free parking

Definitely not a "Castle"Posted Jan 15, 2014
Pros: Quiet room, bed was comfy
Carpet was dirty and not something you would want to walk around barefoot on. Had to wear my shoes the entire time. Bed linens didn't look like they had been changed and there was hair in the sink. Room was quiet and once the clean linens were on, the bed was comfy. Looks like an old trucker hotel, minus the viberating bed. Not my first, second or even third choice of hotels in SF.

Great locationPosted Jan 9, 2014
Cons: Keep the hot coffee flowing in the morning! The orange juice could be less diluted.
This cute hotel was within easy walking distance to Fisherman's Wharf area, and to the cable car lines. The room was clean and comfortable with a rather large mini-fridge and microwave (perhaps a necessity for budget travelers or those with small children). The bathroom was HUGE, I actually hung out there for an hour reading my Kindle and eating the free breakfast while my friend continued sleeping. We discovered that the Walgreens just around the corner (on Polk) sold an enormous sushi plate for only $7.99, perfect for our really tight schedule. The gentleman who checked us in gave really great tips and things to see marked on a map he provided. Breakfast consisted of juice, fruit, pastries, and yogurt (there may have been more items but they were out by the time we got down there, the coffee had run out so we were asked to make our own in the room). Parking was easy and free, and they allowed us to keep the car there after check-out until 3 PM, which was really convenient. We chose this hotel due to its great price, location, free parking, and free continental breakfast. We were on the last leg of a huge California tour and money was a factor by this point!!! For those needing more luxurious accommodations, pay up, of course. You know those abound in this great city.
