Room was so small you could barely walk in. Neighborhood was scary. Parking was good as they lock the gate at night.

Close to night life/comfy

Posted Nov 10, 2014
This hotel is a little retro, but it's comfy and Clean . A few friends and my husband were going to a concert in SF and it wasn't too far from the venue. We liked this hotel we would probably stay again because it's so close to the night life too

Would not allow me to check in.

Terrible experience. Slept in my car due to 3 pm check-in. Would not refund or credit me. Really 3rd World desk staff. Terrible customer service.

Should have been cheaper

Location: The hotel location was perfect if you are interested in the San Francisco leather scene.
I was surprised to find that the City Inn is really a motel and not a hotel. The door to my room had an inch gap under it and the TV was a small set with only 6 channels. The continental breakfast was very minimal. I chose to walk to a nearby coffee bar for breakfast.

Dirty shower and floors. Old hair dryer. Not worth it.

Good value

The staff was very friendly. The room was on the street side but comfortable none the less. The restaurant "Basil" around the corner was outstanding.

This was the second cheapest hotel that I could find in San Francisco, and not that cheap! Nothing terrible about the place, would just have expected more for the money. Parking was included in the price on a first come first served basis, and we always managed to find a spot.

Comfortable room; needs maintenance

Posted Aug 29, 2014 on Hotels.com
This was the most reasonably priced hotel within two blocks of the Moscone, where I was attending a conference. The room was ok, and service was good, but there lots of little things that needed attention. The bed was comfortable and the rooms/halls were clean. But the A/C wasn't the best, the shower fixtures were clearly worn, the wifi was spotty, the main entrance door was blocked off (had to go in through garage) and there were spots/stains on chairs and floors. And there was no elevator - I didn't need one but it would have been nice when first arriving and getting luggage to third floor. So - be prepared - you won't pay a lot here but you also shouldn't expect a lot. Basic accommodations.

Average

This hotel is in a transitioning neighborhood. The rooms are relatively nice and clean, but needs an update. There are no amenities and the service was average at best. There is virtually no parking at the hotel, but its not really a problem because transportation is easily accessible. This is not a great hotel for the family. Btw,there is absolutely NO WiFi.
