Old style motel close to Presidio.

Posted Jun 30, 2014
Pros: Proximity to Presidio.
Cons: Breakfast offerings
Location: Hotel on Lombard Street, but a 2 mile walk to the "crookedest road" section. Go one block north and catch a bus to the wharf area!
Easy to find, not so easy to park. Only 6 parking slots in courtyard of motel, others have to park on the street (which is free). Owners very nice and accommodating with tips for restaurants and arranging travel to the airport. Breakfast is sparse - only coffee, juice, fruit and pastries. Must take it back to room to eat because there is no room in the office.

This hotel is clean and offers free parking. It is also located within walking distance to Fisherman's Wharf and the Presidio. It's a great deal.

Location is the best part of this hotel

Posted Jun 21, 2014
Room was extremely small for the advertised price. As a family of four we were pretty tightly squeezed to move about. Continental breakfast consisted of coffee, juice, and donuts. Our last morning there we stopped in for the 'breakfast' and there was nothing there and not a single person to ask about it. Don't be fooled by the ad, parking is first come first serve so you are not guaranteed a parking spot with your paid room. The best part of this hotel was that it was literally 2 blocks from the Presidio and a bus stop!

good for us

Posted Jun 15, 2014
Pros: The staff were very helpful sorting out our telephone issues.
Cons: Breakfast was limited. Having travelled route 66 staying at many motels, we really missed a microwave oven.
Location: Close to the Bridge. We used public transport to get around and there is a bus stop around the corner.
Easy to find after a long drive. Luckily we were able to park at the Motel during our stay.

Good price

Cons: coffee makers in the room
Location: Lunch in Liverpool LiL's
Clean, reasonably priced hotel. The location was good for my business. it's 10 min walk to the Palace of Fine Arts, and 1 hour walk along the bay to the Fisherman's Wharf. Note that number of parking places is limited (around 10), so if you need parking, you may be out of luck. No coffee makers in the room, but free tea/coffee in the office.

Good price for the neighborhood

Posted Jun 10, 2014
Pros: Location and Price
Cons: PARKING
Hotel was adequate for our purpose. The price was good for the neighborhood. Staff was helpful and courteous. They recommended an excellent Indian restaurant within walking distance which served a great meal for a very reasonable price. We were one of the lucky few that got a parking space at the hotel. I may not have been as happy with our stay had we had to search elsewhere for parking.

Close to Presidio

Pros: Location was perfect for my family. Easy to leave by the Golden Gate.
Location: We walked through the Presidio, along the Marina and trough the neighborhood with ease. Lots of food nearby.
Nice older hotel with very little parking. The location was perfect for visiting the Presidio and all the activities along the waterfront. Lots of nearby places to eat. The motel rooms were small but comfortable and suited our needs for 1 night. Even though this motel is on Lombard street it is on a quiet section of Lombard street not the main drag.

There are only 8 parking spaces for 40 rooms. Breakfast is minimal. Lots of other motels on Lombard to select from. Recommend you do that.
