Okay, old property needs rehab

Posted Jun 29, 2015
Pros: Location
Cons: General rehab
Like many of the hotels along El Camino Real, this property appears to be 50 years old. We were late getting a reservation, so choices were limited. It looks dingy and in need of maintenance. We were stuck in a lower level room (#106) in the back with limited ventilation. There were no screens on the windows, and a window-mount noisy air conditioner, so sleeping wasn't comfortable. The grounds need help, the pool deck had loose pebbles everywhere, so uncomfortable to walk on. A lot of litter everywhere. The room was fairly clean. Day's Inn is kind of like McDonalds. You expect a basic quality level. This one doesn't measure up.

Found the carpet to be filthy on attempting to do some exercises. Small TV, definitely not worth the amount charged.

Okay for location, but unfriendly staff.

Posted Jun 26, 2015
Pros: Set back well off El Camino Real, nice pool and garden atmosphere.
Cons: Woman at front desk was very unhelpful. The key cards weren't working properly, but instead of helping she just told us to swipe faster.
The room was clean and the grounds were nice, set back from busy El Camino Real. The front desk staff (think she was the on-duty manager), though, was very brusque and unhelpful however, on at least a couple of occasions (the woman who checked us in was nice, however). And the breakfast was very limited, more so than at similar hotels we've stayed at recently. We stayed there because of limited availability elsewhere and that's probably the only reason we'd return.

Hotel near Stanford medical center

Posted Jun 11, 2015
Pros: Not much.
Cons: Get what I paid for.
I paid for a room with 2 Queen beds for 4 people and received a room with 2 double beds and only 2 towels. Their computer was down upon our arrival, so were not able to complete paperwork. They call about Midnight and wanted me to come to office to finish paperwork. I was already in bed so did not go. Had to be at Stanford Holpital at 5:30 AM because my wife was going in for early surgery. When I arrived at hotel for second nite I finished paperwork went to my room and was locked out and had to go back and get key card fixed. Check in clerk was very unhelpful. Marvin Schouweiler

Pros: price and pleasantness of front desk staff, cleanliness.
Cons: more available outlets for charging devices
Location: downtown redwood city, near 101
reasonable price and clean, nice staff at front desk, free breakfast. Not enough available outlets for charging devices. Could use modernization.

Not so bad hotel if you're looking for a cheap one

Does not have a lot of selection for breakfast. The bathroom was a little bit dirty. I found hairs on the shower area. There were dust under the beds. Although the beds were comfortable enough.
