Clean, updated rooms, great location.

Posted Dec 16, 2014
Pros: Central location, off street parking, helpful employees, clean, modern room, morning breakfast. Also quite location.
Cons: Fruit should be offered with breakfast.
Location: Location is quite, close to public transportation and is walking distance to Civic Center and theaters.
We enjoyed easy, quick check-in. Upon entering the room we found a rather small totally updated comfortable accommodation including a very nicely appointed bathroom.

Nice, reasonably priced hotel in San Francisco, CA

Posted Nov 29, 2014
Pros: The night clerk on 11-23 and 11-24-14. He made us feel welcome and special. The pillows are great! Wish I could have a couple. Comfy beds!
Cons: Teach the two day clerks patience and better customer service attitudes. 11-24 and 11-25-14
Location: There were nice restaurants and a grocery store nearby. The walk to city hall and our Hop on Hop Off bus stop wasn't too far for us old ladies!
We drove in from the Oakland Airport in the evening. We didn't know the area and got lost, but the night clerk (a young, indian gent) stayed with us on the phone and brought us in easily. Our room immediately smelled like smoke and the wonderful night clerk dropped everything and changed our room immediately. We loved him! Too bad the next two female day clerks weren't nice at all. The first gal got mad at us because we had to have her open the breakfast room door when we couldn't get it open for us. The next gal got mad at us when we went down and let her know that we were running a few minutes behind at check out time. We wish we had the night clerk the whole time. The tv kept blacking out every once in a while and popping back on in a couple mins. I was going to report it, but I didn't want to deal with the day clerk on the last day anymore than we had to.

Great value in San Francisco

Posted Nov 7, 2014
Pros: Location was right in Hayes Valley. Bus stops right outside the door and also within two blocks. Great restaurants close by. Comfortable room.
Cons: The hotel is a bit old, and could use some updating of the elevator. It was noisy at night during our most recent stay.
Location: Near the Civic Center, St. Mary's Cathedral and Japantown. Buses to Golden Gate Park and the Waterfront within 2 blocks.
We have stayed here several times, and always had a good experience. It's reasonably priced, close to transportation, restaurants and shopping. The staff is very friendly and helpful.

Exactly what we were looking for

Posted Oct 22, 2014
Pros: Clean, basic room, free WiFi, breakfast (basic, but just fine), good location, good price.
Location: Surrounded by good restaurants, pubs, MUNI to all parts of the city, walking distance to BART (to/from airport), many cultural institutions
Of course it's not a luxury hotel but we were looking for a nice place to be based and to sleep at a good price in the Civic Center/Hayes Valley area. We got that, and add free WiFi & a breakfast, easy walking to restaurants, pubs, culture, public transit, etc.; the Days Inn Civic Center was just what we were looking/hoping for.

OK motel with good location

OK motel with good location, free parking(but very limited spaces). bus 21 at door step. Room clean and breakfast OK. One of the staff was really friendly, helping us print the Alcatraz ticket, but the other staff was quite rude to my husband, when we finished breakfast, he went to the reception looking for restroom, in stead of saying 'can i help you' to my husband, she responded 'excuse me' with annoyed tone, which we were not impressed. Overall, its quite good value for money for San Francisco standard and this motel provides free parking, however you have to get there early to secure the limited places.
