Nice Hotel in the City

Posted Aug 13, 2014
Cons: The bathrooms are still outdated but in working condition.
We were pleasantly surprised as it looks like the hotel has received a few face lifts since the posting of the pictures. It was more modern and not as run-down as expected. It's very centralized as well, having some shopping, nice restaurants, and bar hopping within walking distance. Philz was around the corner and it maybe a 10min walk to City Hall.

Sad example of what could be a nice hotel.

Posted Aug 7, 2014
Pros: Location is good and the room had the biggest walk-in closet I have seen in a hotel. Could possibly be used for a small bedroom for a crib.
Cons: Update the property and add AC.
Location: Not too far from Market street with lots of shops and restaurants.
Rooms are descent but need to be updated. The property shows lots of signs of neglect but if you are looking for a place fairly close to the city and don't want to spend a fortune the hotel works in a pinch. Keep in mind that this place is in the Tenderloin district and you will see a lot of homeless. They generally won't bother you but this is where a lot of them live.

Stay close to Van Ness!

Don't walk from Civic Center to use Bart - take a bus one block over. This hotel is fine, the staff is helpful and the other guests look normal, but if you walk the wrong direction in this neighborhood, you will regret it.

Ok

The hotel itself is quite nice however the location lets it down. Working in the hotel business myself I know that this is the hardest piece of criticism as you can't help the location. The staff were wonderful and couldn't help out enough, thank you very much!!

A hotel for the budget-concious traveler

Really for high-school or college grads who want to travel on a minimal budget; not for grown ups. It is an old building in a bad neigbourghood.

Adequate hotel

Posted Apr 17, 2014
Pros: Location & free parking
Cons: bath & shower area
Location: Civic Center, Fisherman's Wharf, Symphony, Opera and a whole lot more.
Helpful staff, and free parking in the protected lot next door is excellent! Room was quiet and comfortable, but hot water was wanting in the morning. Otherwise no complaints.
