An OK hotel if you have to be in this part of town

Posted Jul 25, 2014
Pros: Uncle Vito's Italian restaurant half a block up the street. Great food, good wine, great prices. It's busy every night and you may have to line up.
Cons: the elevator
If you have to be in this part of San Fran, this hotel is ok. I was there for 6 nights because my usual hotel in the Cultural District was full. It's a busy area and if you're driving, it's tough getting in and out, especially with all the road works going on around Stockton and Market Streets. there's self parking at 750 Bush, half a block up the street. The hotel guest parking rate is $32 a night. The hotel restaurant was being renovated so it was closed other than for a very feeble breakfast offering of toast, coffee, cereal. You're better off crossing the street to the café on the corner. Rooms are older and quite small but adequate if you're out most of the day. The elevator (there's only one) is slow so you may want to use the stairs. The wine hour (5pm-6pm each evening) was enjoyable and a good opportunity to meet some interesting people.

Close to Union Square

Posted Jul 14, 2014
Pros: Friendly, clean and well situated
Cons: Nothing it was great
Location: Great location handy to everything. Good shopping, close to hop on hop off bus which takes you to see all the tourist destinations
Loved staying at this hotel, it was close to Union Square and easy to get to public transport. The staff were amazing, couldn't do enough for us. Loved the happy hour, so friendly and the staff seemed genuinely interested in everyone. Good fitness room, clean rooms with everything you need and nice and quiet.

A little older but nice.

We had a very nice 3 nights in this hotel. It was clean and safe. Mildly outdated, but I think the price reflects this. Very convenient to Chinatown and Union Square.

This hotel had a great location close to public transportation to get anywhere in San Francisco. The hotel is old, but clean and in good condition. I recommend this hotel for someone on a budget.

Good place to stay outside of Yosemite

Posted Jul 2, 2014
Pros: Great place to stay, clean rooms, comfortable beds, plenty of closet and drawer space for the clothes.
Hotel was clean and the staff was courteous and professional. The room was big and comfortable. I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking to visit Yosemite that cannot stay at the park.

Excellent Location

Posted Jun 30, 2014
Pros: Location
Cons: The staff at your arrival should be a little bit more friendly.
Location: Just in THE spot, you can go everywhere from there. You have tons of restaurants around it.
The best location in San Francisco, we went on our honeymoon and it is located just 2 blocks away from Union Square, 1/2 block from a stop of the cable car, you can go everywhere from there with the MUNI services.

Vintage and well kept

Posted Jun 30, 2014
Pros: I like the location, staff, and quaintness.
Location: It's a short walk to downtown shopping and market street. The trolley stops half a block away on Powell.
The room was vintage as the air unit was located in the window. It was not central air, but it was great location for near downtown, to catch the trolley and a straight shot to the wharf if you don't mind a good walk. The staff was very nice and check-in and out were seamless. If you are bed and breakfast or people person, this is a good hotel for you. If you don't value charm, I'd say go to the Hilton instead.
