Perfect Union Square locationPosted Oct 18, 2014
If you want to be able to walk around the Union Square area, the location of the Grand Hyatt is perfect. Check-in and check-out were a breeze, as was valet parking. The bed was comfortable and the room was quiet and clean. What else do you need?

Hotel stayPosted Oct 14, 2014
Cons: When there is a problem and an unhappy tired customer, the staff needs to seek a Manager to make the right decision to accommodate them.
Location: Plenty of food and shopping
We were excited to go to San Francisco for the very first time. We were told by many people to stay down in Union Square. My husband loves the Hyatt chain, so he booked our stay there. The first night was fine. The second night we did not get any sleep. The heater or ac unit kept rattling all night long. We called down early in the morning and mentioned it to them. They said they could send someone up but it would be a few hours. We didn't see anyone. We went down to check out and told my husband told the lady that there had been a problem. She apologized and said she could give us a "little discount" off of our valet parking. I asked, what are you going to do for us? She said I can give you a little discount for your inconvenience. I said I am sorry but it was not a little convenience. We did not get ANY sleep! She then offered to take off both nights charges of the valet parking. I was too tired to mess with her or it. I just walked away. If that is all the hotel was willing to do was just to give us a discount off of our parking, not a comp for a room that did not allow us any sleep. We will not be a Hyatt a customer again. We did go down to San Antonio the following week end and started to stay out the Hyatt on the river walk, but changed and went to the Westin Marriott. We loved Hyatt but not sure if you will get our business again.

Nice hotel in Union SquarePosted Oct 14, 2014
We had a pleasant two night stay as the room was spacious, clean and the bed was super comfortable! Great hotel located in Union Square, that's walking distance to many shops, malls and restaurants. Loved it! Big plus were the essentials the hotel provides to guests for free, such as toothbrushes and toothpaste etc, as the 4-star hotel we stayed at in Las Vegas prior to our arrival in San Fran didn't have that.

Location: Largest Macy's maybe in the world
This hotel is in the heart of the action. Close to China Town and all the shopping any human could want! The room was fanatastic and the staff extremely helpful.

I stayed over the weekend to celebrate my boyfriend's birthday. We both love SF and wanted to make this a fun and memorable weekend. We arrived hours ahead of check in time and we were able to check in and get a room. The front desk staff were very nice, efficient and check in was a cinch! The hotel overall, was decorated beautifully and the room was comfortable. The only thing that amazed me was that there was no complimentary bathrobe. We had a great view of O'Farrell St. and Sbux was just across the street. Union Square was a short half block away and China Town was up about 2 blocks. Centrally located. The breakfast buffet was great. The eggs with the goat cheese, tomatoes and asparagus and the roasted potatoes was delicious. Our waiter was super attentive and light-hearted. I would probably suggest to change out the hotel lobby couches. They are comfortable but low, it's OK. The art installation was dramatic and perfect for SF culture. A complete ceiling to floor art sculpture was built around a red and white vanity. Overall, we were happy with our stay and will be back!

Perfect locationPosted Oct 4, 2014
Valet and curbside staff gave erroneous information about parking. Much less expensive to self-park at Stockton-Sutter garage than stated while trying to sell me on the $62 per night valet parking.

Great hotel close to Union SquarePosted Sep 29, 2014
Pros: Closeness to everything San Francisco has to offer.
Location: Union Square, Cable Cars, Restaurants, Shops, Hop On Hop Off buses.
Superb fast check in, very friendly staff, room extremely comfortable overlooking Union Square with two beds as requested. Noisy roadworks 24/7 outside, we were told about them at check in, and advised if they bothered us they would move us to opposite side of hotel. The noise certainly didnt keep us awake, and we enjoyed the fantastic view, so didnt want to move. So close to shopping, restaurants, cable cars, etc. Restaurant was very nice, couldnt fault the hotel, and for 2 females felt very safe.

Well located in heart of San FranPosted Sep 28, 2014
Pros: Perfectly located next to Union Square and shopping/financial district
Cons: as much as room seemed clean, there was a few long hairs on bathroom counter and definitely not mine or my wife's
Well located...surrounded by good restos, shopping Use their car for airport shuttle - $50 and much more comfortable
