Location Trumps Style

Posted Aug 6, 2014
Pros: The location to Ocean Beach and Golden Gate Park.
Cons: Housekeeping services and more amenities available for patrons. More pillows.
Location: Walks on Ocean Beach and Golden Gate Park within one minute! That is the drawing card for this motel.
Great location near Ocean Beach and Golden Gate Park. Clean and comfortable. Not many bells and whistles. Housekeeping didn't clean up room one day, so trash cans filled, and had to go to front desk to get clean towels, toilet paper and Kleenex. No vending machines for sodas, snacks, ice that we found. However, compared to other prices in area, and given its stellar location, overall satisfactory impression.

Posted Jul 22, 2014
Pros: Cleanliness of the rooms.
Cons: Needs elevator.
Location: Ocean view. Walk distance from the beach. Approx. 30 min drive to Pier 39 and about 10 min drive to De Young Museum and Academy of Science.
Room clean. Great staff service. No elevator( great inconvenience for me). Parking ok, (free).

Location, Location, Location

Pros: The space is the room and the great bed.
Cons: The rumbling of the cleaning carts on Sunday morning.
Location: Beach Golden Gate Park Muni Zoo
The beach is across the street -what could be better than that. Well add free parking, a quiet nights sleep and a two block walk to restaurants. We headed south for a short walk to Beach Side Restaurant for breakfast and dinner. For a fancy choice and great view head north to Beach Chalet. Muni is only 2 blocks away and thus no need to drive downtown and look for parking. We look forward to a return trip.

Scary

Pros: Couple managing the motel that evening were very nice.
Cons: I was told the room was "renovated." If this were true, I don't know what one could do to convince me to stay Maybe rebuild with LOTS of security?
Location: Close to the beach.
Shady neighborhood. The motel had just been broken into and police were on scene when we arrived. Our "suite" smelled of 30+ years of cigarette smoke, mold and ???. As 2 older women, we did not stay. Staff was pleasant and courteous.

Rooms not air conditioned!

Posted Oct 6, 2012
Pros: Location, price
Cons: No air conditioning
Location: Great!
We didn't notice that the hotel's description says that only the "public areas" are air conditioned. Not sure exactly what those are -- This is a motel, so your room opens out to the street. Our room was not air conditioned, making it quite stuffy. (It was 80 degrees outside when we checked in.) We didn't open the windows for privacy reasons -- anyone could have walked by and seen right into our room -- and due to the noise from the busy street, and because the screens were in disrepair. Otherwise the room was impeccably clean. The restaurant did not look inviting, and it did not open for breakfast until late. (9:00? 10:00? I don't remember exactly, but jet lag had us up long before it opened.) The location was good, and seemed safe. We saw lots of nice cars parked on the streets nearby and we saw several individuals out walking dogs in the dark when we arrived (after 9 pm). The clerk at the front desk had trouble with English. I think we took the last parking spot, and I don't think the motel was full.

Good crash pad in the city

Nice comfortable stay for the night. The room was spacious, comfortable and economical for SF. However, the neighborhood is a little rough, with lots of panhandlers and homeless on the beach path and in front of the gas station.

Just ok.

Pros: Next to the pacific ocean. My wife and I took romantic walks on the beach .
Cons: Just the price for the accomadations !
Location: Super :-))
Great location !! Couldn't b any better. Rooms were ok ! But outdated and old looking ! No breakfast or coffee. Yes we're spoiled !! But for the Price u would expect the ammenties . I do feel it is over priced !! I'm not cheap but I feel u should get what u pay for. We did have wifi and it worked great. No issues.
