Just a bed for the night.

Posted Oct 18, 2014
Pros: Location. Parking.
Cons: Cleanliness and a coat of paint. Better linens.
Location: Marina district of San Francisco. Really great.
We were hardly at the motel so it sufficed but I wouldn't want to spend much time there.

Bring Earplugs!

Posted Oct 12, 2014
Pros:Dude at the front desk was cool. Free parking was tight spaced but appreciated. It was nice to have mels drive in and ihop near by for breakfast. Cons: Only one accessible power outlet (at least in my room. W alls are paper thin. Lots of people a car traffic) in the morning. Also you can hear people prepping their coffee maker (to give you some idea). Bring earplugs if you want to sleep. No A/C or built in heater but staff left a fan and space heater for us.

OK for the value

Posted Sep 3, 2014
Pros: Price
Cons: Could definitely stand a renovation/modernization.
Location: About 5 blocks or so from bus route. Almost within view of the bay.
This hotel is very fairly priced. In comparison to other San Francisco hotels, it is about half the cost, but you get what you pay for. Definitely a budget room, but with two clean beds and an operational bathroom. Requests for early check-in and late departure were both granted by friendly office staff.

OVER PRICED AND IN NEED OF REPAIR

Posted Aug 14, 2014
Pros: NOTHING OTHER THAN THE FRIENDLY FRONT DESK STAFF.
Cons: EVERYTHING
Location: THE LOCATION OF THIS PROPERTY (MARINA DISTRICT) IS WHAT ALLOWS THEM TO CHARGE SUCH OUTRAGEOUS PRICES FOR SUCH SHODDY ROOMS
SAN FRANCISCO HOTELS KNOW THAT DURING THE SUMMER MONTHS THEY CAN GET AWAY WITH CHARGING OUTRAGEOUS PRICES WITHOUT HAVING TO OFFER ANY TYPE OF COMFORT TO THEIR GUESTS. THE GREENWICH INN TAKES THIS MIND-SET TO THE TOP LEVEL. WAY OVER-PRICED FOR A ROOM WITHOUT ANY TYPE OF CLIMATE CONTROL, WITH THREAD-BARE CARPETING, OUTDATED AND SMALL BATHROOM FACILITIES AND SMOKE ALARMS THAT ARE HANGING OFF THE WALLS. IF IT WASN'T FOR THE PLEASANT TREATMENT I RECEIVED FROM THE STAFF AND THE FACT THAT THE ROOM, ALTHOUGH THREAD-BARE AND JUST "OLD", WAS CLEAN, I WOULD RATE THIS PLACE AS 'TERRIBLE'!!! THERE ARE JUST TOO MANY OTHER OPTIONS HOTEL/LODGING OPTIONS AVAILABLE IN SAN FRANCISCO TO AT COMPARABLE PRICES TO SELECT OVER THE GREENWICH INN.

close to Fisherman's wharf and Lombard st

Posted Jul 21, 2014
Pros: the location of the hotel.
Cons: customer service and make the walls thicker.
Location: two blocks down and top blocks over you can catch the bus that takes you to fisherman's wharf. lombard st has many restaurants. and walgreens nearby
the manager Rick was not very friendly upon checking. Diaz is the only nice one in the front office. the walls to the room are little thin and you can hear people stomping above.

Needs complete renovation

Posted Jul 15, 2014 on Hotels.com
The Greenwich Inn, in my view, is located in the best neighborhood within SF for tourists to stay. If location (and price) is your primary deciding factor, you must consider this place. The Inn however is in terrible condition. The mattresses are old and look unsanitary, and the two rooms we inspected smelled horribly of wet mould concealed with air fresheners and cleaning products. I will state that the staff was very accomodating and gave us a room in their other property, the nearby Motel Capri, which is renovated and much nicer.

Noisy, dingy. Good proximity to upscale areas. Price is right.
