Double Bed Room = Euro Style Accommodations

Posted Sep 30, 2014
Pros: Love the Kimpton hospitality and location on the Embarcadero.
Cons: The double rooms need to be marketed as Euro style
Location: Close to Oakland Bay Bridge / I-80 access. At Pier 1 on the Embarcadero. Walking distance to Pier 39, Alcatraz/Bay tours, and Fisherman's Wharf.
I've loved my experience at Kimpton hotels in a few cities. The historic building, atmosphere, and hospitality were on par with prior experiences. However, this was the smallest, yet most expensive room we've ever rented. There was about 2 feet of room around the double bed. The column of rooms across from the elevators on each floor are the doubles, which feel like you're entering broom closet or storage room. They also overlook the HVAC unit. Disappointing.

Perfect stay

Posted Sep 29, 2014
It was a small room with a beautiful view. Perfect for our romantic getaway. They greeted us upon checkin with an acknowledgement of that as well as champagne and chocolates in out room. Staff very friendly. Very unique, relevant amenities.

Location location location

Posted Sep 29, 2014
Cons: More knowlegable staff regarding San Fransico.
Location: Still can walk to Union and Pier 39 no problem
The location was great. It was so nice to have a view of the Bay Bridge during the day and at night. It was a lovely walk starting at Pier 1 all the way to Pier 39. Although the room was small, the bed was super comfy, and the room spotless . The front desk girl was not very helpful with places to eat, she only recommended the place next door, but the complimentary wine hosted bar was a nice touch.

Love that its right by the Embarcadero. Walking distance to AT&T Park, Ferry Bldg/Farmer's Market just a block or so away.

Didn't like the upgrade.

Location: near great restaurants and the waterfront
I like the Queen bay view rooms better than the King bay view rooms because the view is of the bridge from the bed.

Very overpriced for the small room with NO view. And the valet service we paid for.. the guy had us walk with all our suit cases and bags (while he took the one with wheels) to get our car a block and a half away (that did not make me happy!).

Natalia's 19th birthday celebration

Posted Aug 25, 2014
Pros: Thank you for the nice birthday wishes and cupcakes for Natalia's birthday; she really liked that and it was so inviting when we arrived.
Cons: n/a
Location: We did the Alcatraz and Angel Island tours and walked the wharf.
We loved staying in the Penthouse suite; there are three in our family so having the extra bed made our stay much more comfortable. We enjoyed Ozumas for dinner and in the morning, we loved riding the bikes to see the bridge and the wharf. The hotel is very nice and we appreciate our stays at the hotel.

WONDERFUL

Pros: Location, location, location! Staff, amenities, the wine and beer at happy hour. They even have a masseur there for your relaxation.
Cons: The hallways are very warm.
Location: Your on the Embarcadero. You can catch a bus, train, Cable car, Bart, ferry, etc. to anywhere in the city or beyond.
An ideal location for all of a San Francisco experience. A five minute walk from the Ferry Building. You are at a hub of all the transportation you need to enjoy the entire city. The hotel is beautifully appointed and the staff are very knowledgeable and accommodating. The room was not big by any matter of means but very comfortable. The bed was awesome but the best part of the room was the bay view. It is definitely worth paying a little extra for a bay view. This is my new and only hotel destination in San Francisco from now on!!!
