Nice hotel but very busy

Posted Aug 9, 2014
Pros: The rooms, the cleanliness and it was central to what we wanted.... Shopping!
Cons: I think some rooms could be updated, ours did have some wallpaper hanging off which wasn't. Nice and the curtains could do with being changed.
Location: The hotel was near Union Square, very central for shopping but if you wanted to go sightseeing it was very handy for taxi cabs.
We arrived at this hotel on Monday 4th Aug to 8 Aug. it looks very impressive but is on. Very busy road. Some traffic can be heard from rooms. Plenty of elevators. The bedroom was roomy and nicely furnished with large telly, iron and board. Bathroom was clean. With fresh towels everyday. Has a Starbucks inside lobby and bar and resteraunt called Urban Tavern. We decided to eat at local places, all in all I enjoyed my stay here. Only down side it was very busy with conferences so lots of queuing.

First time staying at a "Hilton" and the last.

Posted Aug 9, 2014
Pros: Location
Cons: Everything
Location: It was convenient for all my tours that I booked. Drop up and off at the door.
Some of the other hotel chains put the "Hilton" to shame. Granted this Hilton is an older hotel, but the room sure needed updating. The bathroom was dirty under the sink area with years of dirt build up. The toilet ran all day and night. The tub had seen it's day and the taps leaked. So compare this to some of the less expensive hotels that cost a fraction of the cost and I'll stay at a Marriott any day.

Hôtel well located close to union square

No free wifi, the parking is more than expensive. There is no fridge in the room. The hotel is noisy, house keeping knocks the door early on the morning. I expected better amenities from this kind of hotel.

Great hotel, shame about the desk staff.....

Posted Aug 6, 2014
Pros: Cleanliness and facilities
Cons: Front desk
Location: Too much to write. Right in the heart of the city and what a city!
All very good but really let down by poor desk staff. Waiters, waitresses and cleaners all very nice. Desk staff - we dealt with three were ignorant, didn't want to help and didn't know what to do...

Very good, the price was very high, and for a weekend, it was very crowded.

Overpriced

Posted Aug 4, 2014
The room was clean and good amenities, but the room was very small and had no view. For $400 per night I though it was not acceptable. It's a gigantic hotel and the reception area was always full of people, it was understaffed to cater for a large number of people.

Massive, expensive, no-charm hotel

Posted Aug 4, 2014
Pros: Location
I had a good time, but the lobby feels really crowded and the place has no charm. The location is good, but watch out in which direction you head at night. You may find yourself in the Tenderloin, surrounded by mental patients on the loose.

Close to everything but no free wifi in-room

Posted Aug 3, 2014
The hotel is very well, walking distance to shopping, chinatown, etc. Our room was in tower 3. It was small and the decor is old not like the ones in the pictures. On the other hand, it was very clean. Rooms in tower 1 looks more modern and similar to the pictures. In-room internet is NOT free which is a big down for me. You can get free internet in the hotel lobby.

Very busy hotel!

Posted Aug 1, 2014
Pros: Location, ideal for anyone visiting the city
Cons: INTERNET ACCESS! Rooms could do with updating
We stayed at the hotel on a sightseeing trip for 4 nights. The location of the hotel for anyone wanting to explore the city is fantastic. A five minute walk to Union square. The hotel itself was very busy, the reception area was huge and had hundreds of people milling around. Looks as though there's a lot of conferences and the like going on. The room was ok, a bit dated but fine for what we needed as we only used it to sleep. Internet was a nightmare. Couldn't get it in the room, and very slow in the reception area. Had to pay more for a room upgrade to get access.
