Tired hotel, in need of renovation

Posted Nov 16, 2014
This is a typical conference hotel, lots of room nights, in need or renovations and generally not what I would expect from a Hilton.

Average Hotel (Avoid staying here)

Posted Nov 16, 2014
Pros: Nothing
Cons: Improve the room quality
As some one who travels for work and spends 75% of my time in a hotel, this hotel is one to avoid. The room that we had was extremely disappointing, smelly, and dumpy. Better can be had all around Union Square. The staff was very disappointing as well. Beyond the Concierge desk, no staff person was very helpful. When I asked for directions, the staff person just walked off. I will avoid staying at this hotel in my future visits to San Francisco.

Wont go back to Hilton Union Square in SF again

Posted Nov 15, 2014
Very disappointing two night stay. First, I was standing in the Honors line waiting for someone behind the desk to check me in. One of the non-Honors staff was not busy and even though he looked at me, he did not call me over. Another non-Honors person got into that line and he called her over yet I stood in line waiting for the one person who was checking in Honors guests. Next, my room was very small. There was hardly enough room for me to move between my bed and furniture against the far wall. The bathroom was also very small and the back of the toilet was right up against the counter where all my toiletries were placed. Finally, the view outside of my window was a wall. Yes, I come to SF and all I can see from my room is a wall. Not the way an Honors guest should be treated.

Nice hotel with a great staff

Posted Oct 26, 2014
It was a great experience for the first time in San Fran. We went to the concierge to ask questions and a staff member, Steve, gave us great ideas and suggested to do a bus tour. Overall loved it.

Nice hotel, convenient location

Posted Oct 21, 2014
Cons: There are two towers, so request a room looking out as many rooms face inward, looking across at other rooms.
Location: Union Square, shopping, cable cars, buses, metro. Easy walk to many attractions and activities.
Great location, close to transportation, easy walking distance to shopping, attractions.

Pros: The room was exceptionally clean.
Cons: I enjoyed everything the hotel had to offer.
Location: People can visit China Town. Go the Fisherman's Warf at Pier 39 and enjoy a cruise to Alcatraz.
Our stay was great. The hotel services and amenities were great. Staff is very friendly and helpful.

Large convention hotel near Union Square

Posted Oct 15, 2014
Pros: Rooms were nice.
Cons: Dining facilities.
Location: Union Square area. Marginal neighborhood. Most destinations require taxis. About 2 blocks from cable cars.
Public areas and rooms were very nice. Dining facilities were totally inadequate--1 restaurant and a Starbuck's for a large hotel. The lines were very long and prices were high. The neighborhood was sketchy and I wouldn't have gone walking at night to look for another place nearby to eat. Plan on using taxis.
