Great locationPosted May 20, 2015
Overall great experience. The #1 thing for me was location and cleanliness and both were met. I found the fisherman's warf area is very accomodating if you plan on walking/biking to see the city. The walk to downtown / china town/ Little Italy was completely doable. The bike ride to the golden gate was easy. A lot of the day tours originate from the fisherman's warf area making them much easier to plan for and not spend a lot of time traveling to their locations.

Great for a 2 day stayPosted May 12, 2015
Wanted to stay close to the warf, so wouldn't have to drive while I was there. Is close to cable car turn around, close to lots of restaurants, lots of tourist attractions

Great hotel in a great locationPosted May 12, 2015
Pros: location, free breakfast buffet
Cons: Change some breakfast buffet items on different days
Location: Close to the cable car, Ghirardelli, Pier 39, Fisherman's Wharf, Alcatraz, Lombard Street and many restaurants.
The hotel is in a great location to many sights and attractions. We were able to walk to most of the activities that we were doing during our stay. The free breakfast buffet was a plus. It does offer the same thing everyday, but there are many choices to choose from. Our room was in a quiet location on the second floor. The street seemed pretty quiet too. The room was very clean and the staff was friendly. Would definitely stay there again.

Great location near transitPosted May 12, 2015
Pros: The location, and the rate.
Cons: The bathroom fan was very noisy--and came on with the light--waking my partner.
Location: Fisherman's Wharf, of course, but also a jumping off place for ferries to Sausalito, etc, and bike rides across the Golden Gate bridge.
A comfortable place to stay, near all the tourist locations, and close to transit which gets you everywhere (including the airport.) The room was immaculate, the free breakfast substantial and varied (that is, not just a sweet roll and coffee, but omelets, sausage, pancakes, a wide selection of breads, juices, fruit, even biscuits and gravy. A substantial start to the day.) My only reservation was the noisy ventilation system in the bathroom, and heating system in the room. Otherwise we were quite pleased.

Nice hotel, close to Fisherman's WharfPosted May 7, 2015
Cons: Install an in-room safe in each room
Overall the hotel was nice. The reception staff were excellent, always greeting us with a smile and very willing to help with any request. Breakfast was included. The breakfast was basic but nice, with a choice of both hot and cold food and drinks. It was a quick walk to Fisherman's Wharf. The room had no safe which was annoying. (All other hotels we stayed in on our holiday had a safe.)

Excellent locationPosted May 5, 2015
Pros: Ideal location. Walking distance to many attractions and only a short taxi ride to Union Square. The breakfast was excellent.
Location: Visit the sea lions at Pier 39, take the boat trip to Alcatraz, pick up the night bus tour. We walked from Coit Tower to the hotel.
We really loved San Francisco and were pleased we chose the Holiday Inn Express & Suites. The room was clean and comfortable and the coffee making facility in the room was welcome. Excellent breakfast. The concierge was very helpful with suggestions for seeing the sights. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful. The location was ideal; only a short walk to Fisherman's Wharf and its attractions and to the cable car terminus and Big Bus Tour terminus. Plenty of restaurants nearby.
