Great location, with a view.

Perfectly situated at the end of a tram line that runs until 1am. Ask for a corner room, which includes 2 long viewing windows. Must specify a high floor...I started on 10, then moved to 14; 26 floors in total.I asked to change rooms after 2 nights to get a better view. Breakfast is worth paying extra for......it's filling....lasted me until 3/4pm & there's loads of choice. Plus take food upstairs & put in fridge in room for a snack later if desired. Ask in the hotel gift shop for information & tips....it's invaluable! I stayed for 1 week & bought a 'Transport Pass'...best $29 ever spend.. use the trams, trollies, buses & subway as much as you like during your stay. Happy Holiday's!

Conveniently located hotel and great service.

Posted Apr 16, 2014
Pros: Convenience of location and great staff
Cons: It would ge great if they had twin beds instead of doubles.
Location: Fishermans Wharf, Union Square, Crooked Street
We really enjoyed our stay at the Holiday Inn. Baker on the front desk was very helpful and was able to allow us early access to our room ( which is great when you have kids). We were able to see all the sights we wanted as it was in quite a convenient location, for most part we walked everywhere from the hotel

My stay :

Posted Apr 12, 2014
Pros: It was just ok, nothing to get excited about.
Cons: They should imform people that the front rooms of hotel are noisy at night and give people the option as to having a more quiet room
Location: Nothing we had to take the bus, cable car or our car to get to any of the attractions.
The hotel room was small and hard bed. The streets sounds kept us awake for 2 nights finally got mad and had our room changed. A small bottle of purell hand cleanser costs $4.99 for 3 oz. Food not real great and the rest. was in a conf. room. Felt we should not have had to pay $40.00 per day plus tax for parking. Our experience was somewhat disappointing. A lot of construction in lobby

Basic necessity

Posted Apr 8, 2014
After searching for hours for a hotel, we chose this one because of the cable car stop being so convenient out in front of the hotel. The toilet stopped working twice. The front desk wanted to switch our room at 10:30 PM after my children were already asleep, rather then finding someone to fix it immediately. They finally sent a janitor after we insisted it be fixed. The next morning the toilet was not working again. Apparently this is a common problem after they did their remodel. We had to use the lobby bathroom several times...quite the inconvenience. No other offer was extended for a free breakfast, a voucher for another stay, or even free parking (normally $40 per night). Also, if you drive an SUV, it will not fit in their parking garage. Max height is 6'2". -We will not stay here again.

Convenient area to stay

The staff were very friendly & helpful. I felt the location was very convenient, because we were pretty close to everything. Whether we wanted to walk, take a bus, cab or the cable car we had those options. The hotel also provided us with a map with close by reataurants & bars. They also had a breakfast in the hotel. A major plus our bank was literally next door.

Nice hotel, close to city sights.

A very pleasant stay. The beds comfortable with amenities we look for such as in room safe, refrigerator, Wi-Fi, etc. All rooms have city views. The hotel is centrally located on Van Ness. Get a Muni Pass and take the Cable Car on California right outside the hotel to Fisherman's Wharf, Union Square or the Financial District. From Van Ness you can bus to the Wharf on #47, Golden Gate Park via #1 on California, the Golden Gate Bridge on #76x at Clay/Van Ness. You get the idea, it's really easy to get around. We stay with a mind to be on the go.
