A good short stay

Posted Apr 15, 2014
We spent one night at hotel Abri. Location was perfect as it is very close to BART Powell station and Union square. Staffs were very attentive. Asked us if we want street facing or inner facing room, and we wanted to have a quiet room so went with inner facing king room on the 5th floor. This is suppose to be a VIP hotel for expedia rewards member. I read there there would be complimantary upgrade. However it was not offered to us. Room was clean, small. For one night it was sufficient. Has everything to make your stay comfortable. Closet was very small. If we were there for multiple nights I would ask for a bigger room. The hotel restaurant offers very good American Italian dishes. We recommend eating there.

Welcoming boutique hotel in Union Square.

Posted Apr 13, 2014
Upon walking in, I was surprised to see how modern the decor was in the lobby. A good amount of seating, a nice lobby counter, a row of ipads along the wall, and a small snack and coffee area greet you. The lady at the reception counter was very courteous. We got into town early in the morning and wanted to check into our room early. We were given a sort of upgraded room. It was bigger than the one I had booked, but the bed was smaller. Not a problem though. The main thing I noticed was that the rooms are older. The door frames are a bit dingy. Room decor is not nearly as modern as could be. Bed sheets were a little thin. The bathroom was nice and modern though. The other thing I thought was lacking was windows and natural light. Being an old building in downtown though, what can you expect? Window space is limited. Overall, a great location to stay, but don't expect a new hotel or the latest and greatest in room decor.

Nice hotel in a good location in San Fran

Posted Apr 11, 2014
Pros: Location
Cons: Fitness room
Location: Close to Union Square and central downtown San Fran
Nice place, rooms a little small, no gym (day pass available at a local gym 3-4 blocks away for a discounted day pass)

Modern style hotel, central to all attractions

Posted Apr 5, 2014
Pros: Location, modern style and staff
Cons: Perhaps Residents should get discounts for adjoining restaurant which is linked into main hotel reception
Location: Location ideal for designer shops, Union square and main station for underground/ BART , and tourist carts ( Powell / Hyde St).
This hotel is around the corner from Union Square and the main Powell st/ Hyde tram station. Ideally located with all the designer shops, restaurants and bars close by. Fantastic base for touring San Francisco many attractions. Hotel staff really helpful in all areas with them additionally arranging all our flight on line check ins and printing all of our tickets to save us time. Complimentary coffee every morning available in lounge area. This hotel is ideal as a business or family base. There are some negative reports on here about noisy rooms due to city activity, however there are options for inner corridor rooms to eliminate this if your a light sleeper or don't want to experience the normal part of living/residing in a busy city.

Excellent location.

I found this hotel to be centrally located to both Union Square and the Westfield Mall. The hotel interior was colorful and vibrant and the atmoshphere was welcoming. The staff were pleasant and helpful. The room was small but comfortable enough. I found our room was exceptionally clean which is a big plus for me.

Great Location

Posted Mar 30, 2014
Pros: Location and helpful staff
Cons: We didn't need parking but it looked complicated
Location: Cable car, F Tram, Shopping and Restaurants all handy
Staff were very helpful and made great recommendations to eat and activities to do. They went further to help us than required. Wifi is good. Location is right in the heart of where you need to be. We got of the BART and walked around the corner to the hotel. It's a short walk to the cable car, Market street and the F Trams.

Good Union Square choice and value

Posted Mar 28, 2014
The only negative I can think of is that the room was a bit small and the closet smaller for the courtyard room that I selected. (And staff warned me that my choice had a small closet in case that mattered to me--it did not.) Friendly and helpful staff. Warm feeling in the lobby and on the carpeted staircase that was much more pleasant to use than the elevator (except when checking in and out with luggage.)
