thumbs up

My first time staying here, in town for business for the week. SF native, former inner Sunset resident who has since escaped to the mountains. I really enjoy the North Beach area when I'm in town, and I wanted to stay out of the Moscone/Market/Geary/Union Sq rat race on this trip. The property has lots of personality, reminded me of my old flat in the inner. No elevator, lots of photos of the beatnik 50's that is congruent with the area, lots of history. It is surprisingly quiet, even with the window open, day and night. The room was def small but clean with an upgraded bathroom. Excellent water pressure in the shower, great towels, bed was comfy, good sheets. Staff was very pleasant, very helpful, friendly, always ready to help out. So much to do in the area with Chinatown at the next block, all the dynamite food and entertainment in the area, The Saloon is a personal favorite dive bar around the corner for great music and local color. If you are looking for amenities like you'd get at a downtown Hilton or Marriot then you should stay at the Hilton or Marriot. If you desire a clean quiet room with class and charm in a great SF neighborhood to really experience the city then consider staying here.

Awesome hotel with North Beach vibe

Posted Apr 20, 2015
This funky little hotel was great, we had an awesome time staying here. It's an old hotel so if you want a place with all the modern conveniences, I'd go to one of the chain hotels instead. But if you want a fun unique experience, I'd definitely go with this place. We had a room overlooking Columbus Ave, we opened the window and drank wine and enjoyed the sights and sounds of North Beach. We got the room right underneath the one Allan Ginsberg used to stay in, which was pretty cool. The room wasn't huge but was big enough for the 2 of us. The shower pressure was amazing. The TV was super tiny, but we didn't turn it on anyway. Not a ton of outlets for phone charging and whatnot, I actually had to unplug the TV to use one. Both people I spoke to at the front desk were helpful and awesome. Loved it, will definitely stay here again.

Friendly, convenient and charming

Posted Apr 7, 2015
Pros: Staff friendliness and helpful demeanor. Comfortable room and great location in North Beach.
Cons: Larger TV set. Possibly add a small work desk in the room.
Location: Great restaurants and bars nearby. Near Coit Tower.
Although a bit difficult to find, Hotel Boheme is a surprisingly charming old boutique hotel with excellent service. It's a bit of a throwback experience to stay there - keys and room number fob to boot. But the comfort is undeniable right down to the complimentary wi-fi and cream sherry each evening.

Very nice classic hotel in heart of North Beach

Posted Mar 21, 2015
Pros: Very nice staff. Super clean rooms with nice bed. Complimentary sherry in evenings.
Cons: The room could use a small desk & table lamp.
Location: Right in the heart of Little Italy/North Beach area and close to Chinatown. Tons of food near by - it would take months to sample it all.
A very nice small classic hotel in the heart of North Beach, Little Italy area. Nice touches in hotel & rooms about SF history. Staff is very friendly and willing to help. Super convenient to downtown and lots of restaurants. If you want all the modern amenities of large hotels, stay somewhere else though.

Small hotel in a charming part of the city

Posted Mar 21, 2015
We had a great stay at this place. The rooms were a bit tight and unfortunately didn't have A/C; however, the windows opened, a fan was provided, and the coastal breezes made up for the lack of A/C at night. The hotel is in a really cool part of town but the only drawback is that it's noisy in the morning with traffic and delivery trucks servicing all of the restaurants below. All in all, I'd stay there again for its location.

Cozy hotel in a good location, walk everywhere

Posted Mar 21, 2015
Very nice quaint hotel right in the middle of everything, walking distance to most places you want to see. Robert at the front desk was EXCELLENT! He was very helpful and patiently offered wonderful helpful advice on places to see, transportation, places to eat, etc. The cleaning staff was very nice and accommodating. The room was nice and cozy, clean, had a warm feel to it. Staying at Hotel Boheme felt like you were staying in your own apartment right where the action is. You had your own key to get into the hotel as well as a key to your room. It was great that the hotel was always nice and quiet. The room did not have a coffeemaker, but Robert was kind enough to find us a hot water pot which we used. We really enjoyed our stay at Hotel Boheme, I would definitely stay there again.

Fantastic location, helpful staff.

Posted Jan 31, 2015
Pros: The location is great, the staff are helpful suggesting places to visit.
Cons: I missed being able to make hot water for tea and coffee in the room. However, there is excellent coffee steps away from the entrance to the hotel
Location: Great restaurants for dinner: Gigi's Sotto Mare Oysteria and Seafood, Italian Seafood at its funkiest finest, and asian fusian at The House.
I used to live in San Francisco, and enjoy coming up from LA every so often to enjoy the walks, eclectic shops, Italian restaurants, cafés and bars. Much better than the hustle and bustle of Union Square. The rooms are tiny. We were looking over Columbus Ave, and there is a fair amount of noise at night, with street cleaning, traffic and trucks making early deliveries in the morning. However its fun to look at the view of café street live.

Nice little hotel

Nice little hotel, very clean, helpful staff, front rooms are a bit noisy from street noise, smaller European style room. I'd stay again if the chains are out of control on their pricing.

On the Road: Small but nice.

Small place but good enough for a night. No AC but had a fan it rattled like crazy. I did like the Kerorac theme.
