Wonderful Experience

Posted Oct 1, 2014
Very lovely hotel! Great service, wonderful art that's welcoming but not run of the mill, comfy beds. Peaceful and clean in a modern environment. Try not to check in between 5:30 & 6 as the wine reception packs the lobby. It's very festive but if you are registering and parking and stressed from travel it's like crashing a party in your own house that you weren't invited to. If you arrive earlier, the wine reception is a great start to a beautiful night in San Francisco! Breakfast in the morning is a breeze in the restaurant. Very prompt service and delicious!

Great updated rooms and lots of light

Posted Sep 29, 2014
Pros: The room itself, the location. The 5pm wine reception was kind of neat.
Cons: As mentioned above, the fact we could hear everything happening in next room...
Location: Great location, close to all exciting spots
Our stay was very pleasant. We liked the room, modern and clean , with lots of light. We only put a 3 on the room comfort since there was a door between our room and the next one, and you could basically hear eveything that was happening in there: talking, TV, coughing, toilet... Fortunately we had a quite quiet neigbor, but it could have been a nightmare, and it also made us very conscious, as, if we could hear them, they could hear us...

Too noisy, no AC

Posted Sep 26, 2014
My two big beefs were the fact that this hotel had no double paned windows, so traffic might as well have been driving through my room. Also NO AC. Had I known that, I would never have booked in the first place. If it was there in the info and I missed it, my bad. The ceiling fan did not create enough air and it was impossible to open the windows because of the noise. I usually like the AC fan noise as white noise to help me sleep also. The staff was nice and the room was clean. If city noise isn't a problem with you then this hotel would probably be fine.

Pros: Loved the Boutique feel. The complimentary wine and music evening was enjoyable.
Enjoyed the hotel. The location and everything were what we needed. Was not happy with the 2nd Floor room, next to the stairs, above the restaurant. It was noisy and a lot of foot traffic. I would definitely stay here again, but would prefer something on a higher floor, further from stairs and elevators

A sweet little boutique.

Posted Sep 8, 2014
Pros: Staff were kind and my room was very comfortable.
Cons: The restaurant has very good food but the look needs to be updated to be a bit more welcoming and in line with the décor of the rest of the hotel
Location: A little bit of a walk to Union Square but buses can get you to Fisherman's Wharf quickly and great shopping in on Hayes is walking distance.
I've visited SF many times so I am familiar with the neighborhoods that border this hotel. One direction can be a bit seedy while the other direction is Nob Hill. If you are comfortable with the fact that you are not in Kansas and need to use common sense, you will enjoy your stay. The staff was very helpful and I enjoyed my room. I only had breakfast at the hotel but it was very good and the people working in the restaurant were very kind. I would stay again and recommend to friends as the experience overall was very good. If you are willing to walk a little further to Union Square, this hotel beats other 3 star hotels in Union Square.

Good hotel

Hotel staff was very friendly and funny! They were able to switch our rm from 1 king bed to 2 full beds to accommodate having an extra friend tagging along. Good location close to union sq and restaurants.

Comfortable & clean hotel

Posted Sep 1, 2014
The hotel was clean, quiet and comfortable. The hotel is also well located, c. 10min walk away from Union Square and few minutes walk away from the cable cars taking you to Fisherman's Wharf. Afternoon wine hour was a nice touch.

Great place to stay...

Posted Aug 26, 2014
Lovely, spotlessly clean boutique hotel. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Easy walking distance to Union Square where we got on the hop on, hop off bus ( tickets available at hotel) to all the major sites. We also walked to China Town and Fisherman's Wharf ( good walking shoes required ). Upon returning to the hotel each day at 5 pm we were greeted by a glass of wine and live music in the hotel lobby. A classical quartet one day and reggae keyboards the next. The hotel restaurant has great Mediterranean food and good atmosphere. Only downfall is it can be a little noisy. If you are a light sleeper bring earplugs. We would definitely stay here again!
