“A bit on the dark side”
The hotel is in an older building. Many windows go into dark alleys or onto fire escapes. Together with the (supposedly fancy, I guess) dark gray/silver color scheme the hotel is pretty dark. My small room looked more like a cave than a room. The fishnet stocking theme is questionable, but didn't bother me too much, though it gets old staring at a pair of female legs in every window. The room was small, but had everything needed, the bed was firm and I slept well. Since my window went out into the back alley noise was not an issue either
“San Francisco Sleeper”
Just one block away from Union Square in the heart of the Theater District, this 7 floor ultra modern hotel was a real surprise for our family. Bathrooms are tiny but there is plenty of room and nice amenities like robes, slippers and a refrigerator. Perfect for the business traveler or family leisure getaway at half the price of the major hotels. May not be good for those who want or need in hotel dining but their is plenty of excellent restaurants within a short walk. Join their hotel club for free and get a very nice present on arrival too. I am looking to go back to the Diva soon.
“Good location, service needs help!”
You cannot beat the location of this hotel, less than 2 blocks from Union Square on a pretty safe street. For a San Francisco room, it was larger however, although newly remodeled, the floors are paper thin. We could hear the people walking above us. The air conditioner/heater was very noisy (old), even on a low setting it squeeked. Although we paid for 4 people in the room, we never got enough towels and had to ask. Lighting in the room is poor, tv remote didn't work. Bed was very comfortable, location of room was facing an alley which made it less noisy than the street noise nearby. I would stay at this hotel if the price was adjusted for these faults. Overpriced when compared to what we experienced. Prices need to be adjusted or fix the problems.
“Good location”
Hotel Diva advertises itself as a sexy location. Maybe the condom left in the room safe was supposed to elevate it to these heights! The staff were pleasant and helpful. I suggest that the hotel would be an ideal venue for a weekend break. We stayed for 4 days and the hotel did not have the facilities to comfortably cater for this type of guest. The room had a constant buzz from the air conditioning. Ifound it difficult to sleep.
“Good location - good value - staff very helpful”
Staff was very helpful - responded to questions and requests readily. Location is good. Comfort of room - certainly acceptable. Room was small - sink was in bedroom - heat a challenge to control - it was either too hot or chilly. However, it was very quiet - no noise from outside or other rooms. Bed was very comfortable. I would stay here again...
“Small rooms but great service”
The room was very small and the bathroom was tiny also but the customer service was fantastic as well as the location
“Comforable and convenient place next to Union Square”
I've really enjoyed my stay at Diva: the room was very comfortable and well put together, and the location was central and convenient (not a very nice neighborhood though). There was no view from the windows in my room at all: they are directly facing the windows of the other wing of the hotel a few meters across, so the windows have to be shaded at all times. Wasn't a problem for me, just wanted to warn those for whom it might be important. I'd give it 4.5 stars, would be happy to stay there again.
“Not impressed, but not bad”
Awesome location, great hotel for the price, but if you are looking for a extraordinary place to stay, this is not it.
“Diva is divine!”
The Diva Hotel is very well maintained, staff is wonderful, the office facilities for guests is perfect and the decor was fun. I was extrememly happy here.
“Best thing is everything is outside the door but....”
I stayed here after a night of partying for my birthday. I love the whole modernized look and feel of the lobby as for the rooms. The only complaints that I made clear at the front desk was that my AC did not work. Luckily the fan mode worked but the low setting was broken so I had to put up with a very loud and annoying "HUMMMM" sound all night. Poor plumming. The water ran all night in the bathtub even after tightening the knob. I called room service for extra towels in the morning. It took about an hour before anyone came and I already had a shower and decided to just air dry. Besides those three complaints the beds and linen where very comfortable. Valet from the hotel took about 20 mins which wasn't bad since you can kill some time at the Starbucks attached to the lobby. In my on opinion, It's worth a night but I wouldn't extend my stay. Btw, Kevin Spacey is performing a stage act across the street. I forgot which play it was though...
