Value for moneyPosted Feb 24, 2014
Hotel is good. It's clean and breakfast is complementary and it's good and healthy. Staff is okay. Price for rooms is okay. There is no iron stand and limited coffee pouches. Only problem is that this hotel stinks like hospital. They have mentioned that they use some kind of chemical for pest controls. AC nobs are loose n need to make sure it is turned on. But for overall it's good if you r not spending much time in hotel.

Hotel was okayPosted Feb 22, 2014
The window didn't lock all the way, the blankets were not good and housekeeping seemed to be in a bad mood all the time. However it was a comfortable and a peaceful place.

Nice walking distancePosted Feb 20, 2014
Pros: Walking distance to the Bar and Grill
Cons: Better environment, Knowledgeable housekeepers and better coffee
Location: There is a Bar and Grill near by and fast foods restaurants
The Hotel was pleasing and comfortable. Not a Hilton Inn or The Hyatt but it was OK. The housekeepers didn't understand English, everything with them was a "OK" or a smile.

Ghetto MotelPosted Feb 15, 2014
This was a hotel in a awful neighborhood. It was also very outdated and in need of a makeover.
Cheap hotel for a reason.Posted Feb 11, 2014
The hotel was in a shady part of town the closest bart station was 1.5 miles away and was a 30 min walk. Only restaurant within reasonable walking distance was Dennys. The kept the rooms clean and were quick about service but the elevator didn't have a proper door and the stairs were barely lit. it was kinda creepy.

Pros: Proximity to the airport and nearby restaurants.
Cons: Rebuild the hotel.
Bed was good. Breakfast tolerable. Desk clerks were respectful and nice and so were the cleaning staff. However, it was not a good experience staying at this hotel. First, the room had a musty smell that was quite oppressive. The staff was nice enough to let me check two other rooms. They were all bad. I woke up every morning feeling dirty and smelly. Second, the toilet was dirty. Dirty with the yucky mess left behind by the previous stay. The crew came in next day and did a good job cleaning up. Third, one night, I was woken up at 3:15 AM by a loud screaming truck in the back parking lot. The truck driver kept up this up for nearly an hour. Then, there was a thundering noise that shook the hotel. After that all was well except I couldn't go back to sleep. Other concerns: Bath room has no door, so unsuitable except for a single person. No ironing board or iron available, so get your own. According to the staff, none of the rooms have a mini fridge or microwave in case this is important. The elevator is the type that you see in third world countries with a door that you must pull hard to open.

Good if you are on low budgetPosted Feb 3, 2014
Pros: This place isn't great: everything is old and from the first glance it looks creepy, but they keep renovating rooms and stuff is very friendly.
Cons: They might want to get rid of the smell in hallways
Location: Location is great if you have a car
Spent 4 nights in this hotel and my overall experience wasn't bad. Stuff did everything to make my stay comfortable. At the moment this was the cheapest hotel in sfo area. The bottom line is you get what you pay for, perhaps my expectations were less than it turned out to be.

Does the jobPosted Feb 3, 2014
Location: Pretty much nothing in the vicinity - just a starbucks and a Wendy's.
This hotel is basic. The staff were very friendly and the room was clean (although rather run-down). If you're passing through and need a place close to the airport, this place will work. If you want to see the city, you're out of luck. You'll have to take the airport shuttle to BART since there are no stations nearby, and absolutely nothing else to do.

Very noisy you can hear people next door.Posted Feb 3, 2014
It was cheap and I guess you can expect a 5 star treatment for $59/night. If I had to do it over I wouldn't stay there again. Stay away!! Staff is rude.

One of my nearest and dearest friends expressed an interest in being able to visit San Francisco. I was moving up to the Bay area from San Diego when this conversation was being held. The idea to make not only that desire happen but have a means to see my friend was too good to pass up. So a few days after my move I started researching hotels in the area. I chose Hotel Focus because it was the most central to the sites my friend wanted to visit. It turned out to be not only an affordable pick but also a decent location.
