Nice hotel in a good neighborhood.

Posted Jul 25, 2015
Pros: Loved the scent of green tea that greeted me each time I entered the hotel. Room was clean and comfortable and staff was professional.
Location: Japantown mall was just outside the hotel doors, great shopping and eating! Walking distance to Union Square shopping. Located in a nice neighborhood.
Spent a week there and enjoyed every minute of it. Staff was pleasant and professional. Room was clean and comfortable.

We really enjoyed being at the hotel and the neighborhood is just great, especially if you like Japanese food!

An Oasis

Posted Jul 13, 2015
Pros: The bathroom had a separate shower and the room was nicely decorated.
Cons: Provide a small eating area with American cuisine (sandwiches, etc) A shuttle to wharf would be great asset.
Location: We spent the time at The Wharf where we took various tours.
Exactly as described in website. It was clean, had everything described and the staff was friendly and efficient. The location was not the best since there were no American restaurants in area and it was about 2 miles to the Wharf. Wefound a taxi the best way to get back at night.

Nice Hotel, conveniently located in Japan Town

Posted Jul 12, 2015
Pros: Location and atmosphere. Wonderful Japanese style bath.
Cons: Needs some updating.
Location: Center of San Francisco. Near the Fillmore area. Easy by bus to all areas - Haight Ashbury, Presidio, Warf, Golden Gate Park, China Town.
Staff is very professional and friendly. My room had an extra bed that had been brought in a propped up against the wall, as if expecting a 3 rd person or child to be in the room, even though it had not been requested. It blocked the view of the TV. It remained there for 3 days, until finally a maid was able to have it removed.

We'll share the feedback on your behalf to explore the source and make correction where possible, and we appreciate your time in bringing this to our attention. Excellent Hotel - Excellent Customer Service!

Posted Jul 4, 2015
Pros: I loved Domingo the desk clerk who helped us. Having a caring employee who cared about our having a good experience on our vacation made it priceless!
Cons: Loved everything about the hotel. Wish they could clone Domingo!
Location: Centrally located in SF and close to everything!
Let me tell you, I have nothing but good things to say about this hotel! First, when I arrived at the hotel, I was greeted by a cheery, smiling face, upbeat desk clerk, and his name is Domingo. I asked if they had a room on a higher floor, and then I sheepishly told him that I did order my hotel from Expedia, but would really appreciate it if he could get me a room on a higher floor. (If you have ever ordered a room from Expedia or another discounted service, then you know that hotels tend to treat you like you are a second rate person - but not a Hotel Kabuki!) The first words out of Domingo's mouth were, "That's okay if you ordered from Expedia, we treat all of our guests the same!" I was floored! I travel A LOT and have NEVER had a desk clerk say that to me. Domingo gave us a nice room, and he was so accommodating. I also decided to stay an extra night, but the hotel was sold out. Again, Domingo managed to find me a room, and he did so with a sense of joy and passion. Domingo is a rare gem, and because of him, he set the tone for me to have an amazing week in San Francisco. This hotel is convenient to any where you want to go in San Francisco. I will stay here again and again, and I highly recommend that you ask for Domingo to help you if you ever call here, or when you go to check in. He was kind, accommodating, and really cared about me having a good experience at the hotel! I highly recommend asking for him if you ever stay here! He is a joy to deal with! I

An oasis in Japantown

Posted Jul 3, 2015
At the last minute we needed another night in San Francisco. We found the Kabuki on Expedia and it was a great choice. Quiet, clean, a bit off the beaten path in Japantown, but on the bus line and close to the Van Ness cable car. Many restaurants and bars along Post and O'Farrell, and of course lots of Japanese food in and around the Japan Center. The staff was great and there is reasonable parking under the Japan Center if you don't want the valet parking. We'd stay there again.

Boutique hotel in the heart of Japantown.

Posted Jul 3, 2015
Cons: Maybe the soundproofing. At night, (we were in a corner room) we could hear the elevators going off the whole time.
It's a very cute and posh hotel with Japanese architecture, landscaping, and furnishings and yet it's very modern. It has all the amenities -- free wifi, a little fitness center and a business center where you can print out your boarding passes for free. The room we were in was very comfortable, and what I love was how efficient and thorough housekeeping was when cleaning our room. The bathroom is very interesting --- the toilet is in a separate room so if one wants to shower and the other wants to do a #2, it's possible. :) It's located a few miles away from Fisherman's Wharf. Very walkable but there is no issue flagging down a taxi. We could hail one in seconds. As it is in the heart of Japantown, you will have a plethora of sushi and ramen restaurants to choose from. Every meal we had was either sushi or ramen. I loved that about this place! And it's pet-friendly too! The staff is warm and welcoming. They attended to our every need (and anticipated a few of them too!). They are the reason why I constantly stay at Kabuki Hotel whenever I'm in SFO.

Overall nice place. A little bit away from the tourist district, but Uber or taxi were typically less than a minute away.
