“Close to Convention Center for Less”

This was the most affordable hotel within 2 blocks of the convention center. The front desk staff was very accomodating and friendly. The only negative was that parking is expensive but still less than in surrounding hotels. And the valet parking location was not that close to hotel so it took 20 minutes to retrieve the car each time. Overall, exactly what I needed...a clean, comfortable hotel room close to the convention center that was reasonably priced. Would recommend to anyone attending a convention in San Francisco!

This is a great location, right down the block from Bart for an easy train ride to and from the airport. Close to Market to take the trolly down to the Ferry Building and close walking distance to musuems, Yerba Buena, restaurants and downtown. The room was very clean, fresh and surprisingly quiet. The staff were friendly and helpful. The only odd thing is the lobby, which could use some feng shui! The Thai restaurant presents its backside to the lobby with tacky curtains and dirty windows and a tacky open sign. We ate a late night dinner at the restaurant after seeing a play and it was pretty good! Maybe this is what makes the hotel so reasonably priced. I'll take it.

“A clean nice place close to Moscone”

I've stayed at the Milano several times over the years and it has always been a very good quality hotel like a 3-3.5star. This may explain why they have made their internet in the rooms a charged item. :( But for the price I wont complain... too much. They have a bar/restaurant on the first floor which has good food and a good atmosphere if you are not one that wants to explore the area. It is also extremely close to the Moscone centers and easy to walk to. It's also a block away from Market street for shopping, the Bart (Powell st) is right there, as well as the trolleys that can take you to the Wharf.

I have stayed at the Hotel Milano many times over the years and I have never been disappointed. I especially love how quiet it is and the location is fabulous!

“GREAT LOCATION”

The hotel was clean and the staff was friendly. There's a cool Thai restaurant downstairs. It was all pretty nice--but nothing extravagant, you get what you pay for. There was a homeless man just outside the hotel who offered to help me with my bags. I declined but didn't mind the offer--I even gave him some change and thanked him anyway. If you don't like homeless people in the city I'm not too sure where you could stay--they were everywhere. Anyway the room was clean and actually pretty good size compared to what I expected (a room in New york that size would have cost twice as much), but again it was nothing extravagent--the tv was tiny and our view was of the other side of the building just ten feet away. Who cares, I wasn't interested in staying in the room! What I can say is that this hotel's location is awesome. My wife likes to shop and the Milano is attached to the biggest shopping mall in the city. you can walk out of the hotel entrance, take about 15 steps and into the entrance of the Mall. Not to mention right at the corner of the buiding across the street is Market and Powell where the Trolly line starts! And Union Square is also right down the street. We parked our car at the hotel and took the cable car or the bus everywhere we wanted to go from the wharf to Golden Gate Park. It was Awesome! We purchased a Citypass from the kyosk right in front of the Trolly line that gave us unlimited rides the entire trip ! I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

“Basic, inexpensive (relatively speaking) place to stay in a popular neighborhood”

We stayed there one night. We loved the hotel and the location. The room was spacious and clean. Bathroom was clean and reasonably well-equipped. Heating/Cooling worked as advertised. Sheets were clean. TV was old and picture quality was poor. Windows were a bit grimy on the outside, but clean inside. So all in all, a clean, no-frills place in the heart of Market St. We were happy with that for the price we were paying (relative to the chain hotels). We didn't try the restaurant in the Hotel or any of the other amenities.There's a really nice cafe next door (Cafe Venue, I think) that we would strongly recommend. There're plenty of options for shopping and eating close by.

the hotel is descent for the price, but is technologically a little behind - checkin and checkout took very long because of slow functioning computers; and there was no online checkout available. but the location can't be beat for the price! and the staff is friendly.

This was a great, comfortable hotel. Much more than I expected for my money. Great location in San Francisco.
