“Great Hotel, Great Location”
Recommend anyone interested in staying in Union Square stay at the Hotel Monaco. Actually any of the Kimpton hotels are extremely good.
“Great Pet Friendly Hotel close to Union Square”
Great hotel, love that it is 'pet friendly' but if you didn't bring you pet with you make sure to ask for a non-pet floor. Location is ideal if you want to visit Union Square, loads of great restaurants and car rental locations within walking distance. I'll go back for sure!
“Chic and cozy”
This hotel is only 2 blocks from Union Square, can not be more convenient than that. About 5 to 7 blocks to Bart and Muni. Beautifully decorated, I specially appreciated the area where they serve tea, coffee, hot chocolate with the choice of New York Times and Wall Street Journal in the morning and cocktail hour in the evening. The staff was pleasant and efficient. It was fast to check in and out. The room was cozy especially I liked the big full length mirror in front of the very comfortable bed. It had everything that 5 star hotels have except the view. It faced another building. At least it was quiet at night. For the price you can not beat it. I will probably stay there again sometime.
“Very Impressed”
The hotel was super cute, very clean and staff was beyond friendly and helpful. We went for our anniversary and were upgraded to a junior sweet from a queen canopy for free, and there was a note and bottle of wine in our room. Free wine hour was great too. Overall, very happy - LOVE Kimpton hotels!
“good”
It is very close to the Union Square. So it is a good choice for you if you want to go sightseeing in San Francisco.
“It was nice”
We chose to stay here because we always have great experiences with Kimptons and this hotel lived up to our expectations! There are a ton of restaurants within walking distance and it's close to the Powell St. Bart station. The front desk recommended we try Honey Honey (restaurant one block away) for breakfast and we absolutely loved it! We went three times in one weekend. We had a small room compared to other Kimptons we've visited but when you're in SF you're rarely in your room anyway. great wine hour and coffee hour - I would definitely recommend this hotel!
“Excellent Choice - will stay here again”
This hotel was an excellent choice; great location; very nice service. Hotel has a lot of character and we will definitely stay here again. The wine reception and masseuse were great! Free wi-fi was nice. Hotel was also very pet friendly - you couldn't even tell that pets were staying there. The maintenance was impressive!
“Will come back”
Great trip. everyone and everything - wonderful.

“Would go back”
Enjoyed our stay. Staff friendly and helpful. Rooms were clean and beds were comfortable. We were traveling with our elderly parents and they enjoyed but did suggest that a comfortable setting chair s/b added to each room. 9/28-9/30/2011
