Convenient to Union Square

Posted Feb 18, 2015
The hotel was nice and the staff friendly. There was a bottle of chilled champagne waiting in our room when we arrived. I had mentioned it was our 25th anniversary. We were near the elevator, so loud guests could be easily heard, but that was not a deal breaker.

Rooms need to be updated. Carpet was dirty. Comforter between sheets needed to be washed. They didn't vacuum room before we arrived, we found someone else's medicine pill on the floor.

Handy for downtown shops and restaurants

Posted Feb 16, 2015
Pros: Convenient location, good value for money, clean.
Location: Geary street location, theatres nearby but not a busy theatre district. Just a few minutes walk to shops,Union Square etc.
Good location, easy walking to shops and restaurants. Staff very helpful and polite.the restaurant was being renovated and had been closed for a long time. Meals therefor had to be taken outside but plenty of restaurants. A negative for us was the harassment from beggars on every street corner in that area. Unpleasant and off putting.

Schönes Stadthotel

Sehr gute Lage, ideal um die Stadt zu entdecken. Schade, dass das Restaurant gerade renoviert wurde, daher etwas laut unter Tag und das "Frühstück" im Salon immer voll

Old time charm

Posted Feb 12, 2015
Cons: Excellent for business/groups. Some people, especially with small children, may not be comfortable walking late at night, esp. the south of the hotel.
I stayed there several times before and really like the restaurant with its old time charm. This time, unfortunately it was under renovation. Hope this renovation will make the old a better old instead of making it like new.

Stay at Monaco, SF

Posted Feb 12, 2015
Pros: Love the interior of the place. Nice to be able to have a clear parking spot to unload baggage, which this hotel had. Nice workout room.
Cons: Hot Tub or Sauna, Parking at a fair rate, free continental breakfast.
Location: Imax theater, trolley cars nearby, restaurants aplenty.
Area of the Hotel was OK, near the cable cars, restaurants, theater. Homeless always prevalent. Tiny rooms, no view whatsoever, no restaurant in the building (comped a free tiny pastry and bad fruit an coffee and watched over by an employee) or sauna, parking offered at 69.00 per night. Would not stay again, with so many other hotels available in SF.

Nice Hotel close right at the center of the city

Posted Feb 11, 2015
Pros: The small "boutique" style room.
Cons: Get rid of all carpet and add either wood or tile floor-Decorative pillows somewhat "dirty" looking
Location: see above
Hotel is right at the center of the city-walking distance to Union Square, District Center and China Town.
