Perfect atmosphere, cleanliness, staff, location!

Posted May 25, 2015
Pros: We wanted to take the beds home! The rooms were quiet - no outside/hallway noise. Also the shower--roomy, the flow selector had many choices
Cons: Nothing to add at this time
Location: In the heart of the city. Walking distance to many activities.
Our stay was perfect. We had two rooms as it was for a family celebration. Everything we requested was done without hesitation. The entire staff we encountered was extremely pleasant and very friendly. Cleanliness is extremely important to us. We were pleased in every aspect. The hotel nor the rooms had any "hotel scent". The decor is outstanding. Relaxing, modern and posh. Flowers everywhere. The pool area was spotless. The water temperature was important to us, our ten month old granddaughter was very comfortable. We only left the pool because of our schedule not due to temp. The morning buffet is recommended -- variety, service, quality. We will recommend this hotel(chain)to our family and friends. All in all we will visit the Nikko again!

Very modern hotel

Posted May 22, 2015
Pros: Staff was friendly and the hotel was clean and modern.
Cons: After paying close to $400/night, we really expected to get something (like breakfast) at no additional cost.
Location: We needed a better location. Too far for us on Chinatown and Fisherman's Wharf. But very close to Union Square.
Very pretty and modern hotel. It had a small room for a deluxe King. And it ended up being further away from attractions that we spent our days enjoying. Breakfast would have cost us $60/day extra. So we walked across the street each morning and had a fantastic breakfast at Lori's Diner on Mason Street. We were also chased down by a homeless person while trying to catch a taxi. He kept screaming, "I'm sane, I'm sane, I'm sane", and I had to jump into a taxi as he ran right at me and my husband. Honestly it was hard to walk around this area without bumping into panhandlers and homeless. Most were cordial and didn't push too much on their requests for money, except for that guy. We didn't get a good deal on this room. And will probably go for the Hyatt or Hilton next time that is closer to attractions and less expensive. Especially since we are the type that spend very little time in our hotel room.

Pros: The location, the staff and the facilities.
Location: The hotel was located in a great shopping and entertainment area.
I had a wonderful stay at the Hotel Nikko in San Francisco. The check-in process was quick and the front desk staff were welcoming, friendly and knowledgeable about the area. My room was comfortable, clean and modern. The bed was comfortable and the view spectacular. The hotel was centrally located and close to many amenities including restaurants, shopping and public transit. The concierges were very helpful in planning excursions.

quite a lot of additional charge such as exercise room, wireless internet. staff are quite helpful, center of union square that would not worry no where to eat, the mattress is way too soft (flimsy),

Pros: Nice room and shower
Cons: Expensive wifi internet compared with tethering to an iPhone
Location: Good local for shopping and sightseeing
Nice hotel, good local. Hotel arranged for me to take an early morning van to airport, confirmed the ride time and expense and in morning van operation failed to arrive stating that they don't start so early. Result my cost to airport 3 times what I expected to get a taxi!

Felt like a tourist cash dispenser.

Posted May 19, 2015
Pros: Room was immaculately laid out. Food was tasty.
Cons: The customer experience - there wasn't one. As I said I flet Un valued.
Location: Excellent location for Union Square.
Issues as a list. 1. Fixed shower head didn't work. 2. Sink blocked. 3. Terrible one cup coffee machine, with only minimal coffee packs (one each). 4. Ridiculous mini bar charges. 5. The gourmet restaurant brought two courses at once and forgot I was on a wine pairing menu, so at on time I had two dishes to eat and two glasses of wine to drink (the wine came after prompting, so two glasses late and together! 6. In the same 'gourmet' restaurant I had five courses in under an hour! I have never felt so Pressured to eat and drink in my life. 7. Had to pay for wife above the room cost. 8. I related these issues to the receptionist the next morning-she shrugged her shoulders and said that she hoped I had a better stay next time! The feeling was that They wanted me in pump as much cash out of me as possible and never see me again. The staff were polite and nice enough but clearly didn't believe in the idea of a quality hotel.

Great hotel

Posted May 18, 2015
Location is close to great restaurants and wonderful shops. Homeless population is much greater though than other hotels closer to Union Square.
