My wife and I traveled to San Francisco to celebrate out anniversary and were very pleased with Hotel Palomar. The location can't be beat. The hotel is just off Market Street and very close to transportation (BART, streetcar and cable car lines all within a block), and there's lots of shopping in the area along with a number of good restaurants (try Salt House and Annabelle's). The staff was young, pleasant and very helpful. My only quibble is with the bed. I didn't find it very comfortable, but my wife didn't have any problem with it, so maybe it was just me.

West coast trip

Pros: Location and quality of the rooms
Cons: Reduce the cost of parking 48 dollars per night is high
Location: Everything is within walking distance
Great location in central district. Wine reception was a nice touch with lots of very nice wine. Didn't know it was dog friendly but this wasn't a problem

Jesenia was very helpful with my family. We arrive at 2 am. She made everyone welcome. She even send my daughter a bottle of apple cider, wine glasses and 2 cup cakes a special touch for her birthday. We were there for her 16th Birthday. Thank you jesenia from Monique she loved it.

Good location but overpriced

Great location for exploring Union Square, Financial District and Chinatown. However,room seemed basic for the money we paid and we had chosen to upgrade to a deluxe. Room was small and bathroom was basic and dated. Not sure we'd stay here again. We didn't feel this lived up to the boutique description given

This location is not up to the standards of other Kimpton hotels I have stayed at. The toilet barely worked. Housekeeping never arrived before 4:00 pm, and the one time we needed something extra, we had to get it ourselves.

Lovely Hotel, but it's Noisy!

The hotel is lovely and I love the location. The room was spacious and beautiful and the staff was nice. Having said that this was hands down the noisiest hotel I have ever stayed at! Unfortunately my room was on the 5th floor which is also where the bar/restaurant is located. The bar has an outdoor patio and the music was not only loud it had a persistent techno beat which made my skin crawl. I called down to the front desk around 10:30 pm and was told the bar "usually" shuts down around 11pm. I noticed a lot of youngish hipsters and European vacationers staying at the hotel. I think if I had fallen into one of those groups I probably would have been fine with the noise. I was on a quick business trip and had to catch a flight out at 6am so it wasn't ideal for me.

We are actively changing some of our processes as well as investing in some sound barriers that should help resolve the issue for future stays.

Enjoyed our week long stay there. Front desk Adam was especially kind when we found a billing error. A non-issue and he handled it very professionally and kind. Joined its loyalty program and hope to stay at their other hotel in our next trip Cheers to Adam who converted us to fans!

Excellent stay

We went to celebrate my parents My parents were celebrating their 50th Wedding Anniversary and I was celebrating my birthday when we stayed at the Palomar. My parents were up graded to a suite and myself and my partner to a superior room. The staff couldn't have been more friendly or helpful. Unfortunately my Mum suffered a severe ear infection needing medical attention. The staff immediately arranged for her to be seen at a local clinic. I wouldn't hesitate to return in the future.
