Heart of the City

Great place in a good location which is within walking distance to many attractions and shops. Public transport is wonderfully close in the area as well. Rooms are tiny and not very well facilitated.

Great Area, Little Amenities

Posted Jul 16, 2014
We loved the area, we could walk or take a short cab ride anywhere. The room was small but we were hardly in it. The elevator (only elevator) was incredibly slow and being on the top floor we took the stairs more than we took the elevator. The breakfast was lacking, but we went out to breakfast every morning. It's an acceptable place if you just plan to sleep there.

Great location!

Posted Jul 12, 2014
Stayed here for 4 nights. Very clean and great location for shopping. Rooms are small, but who really stays in the rooms on vacation. Location was perfect. Close to BART. Had a room that faced a wall. Which was fine because the noise level was almost zero. It was my first time traveling alone and found it a very safe hotel. Would stay here again.

Basic Needs Met

Posted Jul 12, 2014
Pros: Close to easy transportation, and stores
Cons: Faster elevator?
Location: Starbucks, Walgreens, Cable Cars
Room was small, no view, simple/small free breakfast (toast, cereal and juices/teas/coffee.) Truthfully, I was okay with all of that. I was out most of the time, so I was hardly in my room. The cost of the hotel was pretty cheap (especially for the area,) so you get what you paid for I guess. As long as the place is clean, I'm happy. I've stayed at cheap hotels before.... and those were disasters! I did not even want to change, sleep on the bed and god forbid even dare use the bathroom. Luckily, none of that applied. What I did appreciate was that it was close to the BART, MUNI and the cable cars. Transportation was not an issue. However, be aware of the cable car wait. Its a pretty popular attraction, so the wait can be long. Also, across the street was a 24-hour Starbucks, Walgreens and close to other stores. If you forgot any essentials, just walk across the street and simply get what you need.

Will not stay in this hotel again.

Posted Jul 12, 2014
Pros: Location; in Union Square.
Cons: Get rid of that stinky smell that seems to come from the sink or the carpet under the sink. Shower head was too low for taller people.
Location: Union Square, walking distance to all major tourist attractions.
Stinky room, didn't expect a sink next to the bed. Small room. No bathtub. Staff was not friendly. Will not stay in this hotel again. Breakfast was just ok. Not enough variety.

Centrally located in nice old fashioned building

Posted Jul 11, 2014
Pros: Central location, good front desk staff. Old world building rather than modern concrete.
Cons: Nothing.
Location: Union square 50 metres away & cable cars run outside.
We stayed for 3 nights in 801 at the top of the hotel. It's right next to Union Square & on the cable car route. Very good staff & our room was good. I think if you stayed on the lower floors it might be a bit noisy but it is the centre of the city! Overall very good.

Great location, Great Value!

Fun place. The rooms were small, but if you are spending time in your room you are wasting a trip to SF. Great value for the room, price and location.

Location location...

Posted Jul 8, 2014
Pros: Location! Quiet and comfortable. Lovely staff.
Cons: Rooms are small but manageable. Elevator is slow (we were on top - 8th - floor).
Location: Theatre is easy 5-10mins walk away. shops and eateries right next door :) Transport options nearby but we walked all the time!
Great hotel in the middle of the city. Cable cars right outside. Great shopping, great eating/drinking, easy access to theatre area. Walked to fishermans wharf (approx. 30mins). Staff were very helpful and the breakfast was lovely.

Located close to everything

Posted Jul 8, 2014
Pros: Easy access friendly staff. The price of the room was very reasonable.
Cons: The room needed a little air. Other than that it was nice
Location: Shopping, anything you could want was close by
It was easy to get to from the union square and Bart to hotel. Shopping and food were close. Nice walk to the pier.
