All About Location

Posted Nov 25, 2014
Basic hotel with basic amenities. You get what you pay for. This one is all about the location, which cannot be beat. We would stay again next time we're in the city.

So close to Union Square

Posted Nov 21, 2014
The location of Hotel Stratford is awesome. Its literally round the corner from Union Square and you are so close to shops, eateries and bars. One of the guys (sorry can't remember his name) on the front desk was extremely helpful when we got there. The room itself was quite small compared to what we were used to but we knew this going in. The hotel was very warm and our room didn't have much airflow apart from a ceiling fan. But it was quiet and away from the street.

Affordable stay at an unbeatable location

Posted Nov 21, 2014
5 night stay in November. Affordable hotel at great location half a block from Union Square. Plenty of good places to eat within walking distance. Easy access to public transportation (BART, buses, streetcars, and trollies). Staff was friendly but room service was spotty. Some days it seemed that mirrors were not cleaned and the floor not vacuumed. Amenities and contort level are what you expect for the price though the morning breakfast was nice. 24 hour Walgreen 's half a block away so it was easy enough to pick up anything we needed. May want to avoid the higher floors since there is only one elevator which is always busy. Would recommend this to anyone visiting the city on a budget.

Character only

Posted Nov 19, 2014
Pros: Location, and character.
Cons: Updates in room needed from top to bottom. Bedding, furniture, fixtures.
Location: Great location, in the heart of Union Square, shopping mostly if interested.
Just a quick one night stop. Old hotel that needs a facelift, could be so much more. Updates in room needed from top to bottom. Bedding, furniture, fixtures, Gordon Ramsey would have a blast!

It was OK.

It was clean but a bit old. The service was overall good and the staffs were kind. But the breakfast was disappointing.

In the heart of the city. Supernice staff.

Posted Nov 12, 2014
Pros: Staff, location
Location: Go to Chinatown. Take the tram Powel-Hyde and appreciate the views. Actually it passes by across the hotel
Great quality/price ratio. The staff were really kind and helpfull. Rooms are ok (our bathroom needed some work up) for the price that you are paying and the location is excellent. The breakfast was normal but included in the price which is more than what others offer. Wi Fi worked fine. It will be in our staying-list when coming back to San Francisco

A Great Budget Hotel

Posted Nov 12, 2014
This budget hotel is appropriate for anyone who would prefer to spend their traveling monies on food, shopping and sight seeing tours. This hotel is in a great location with a lot of shopping and resturants nearby. It's only a $6 Trolly ride to all "tourist" locations or a quick $12 taxi ride to Fishermans Wharf. The staff is extremely accommodating and able to answer all questions regarding your stay in the city.

Good location and value

Posted Nov 8, 2014
Pros: The location, price and comfort.
Cons: The breakfast offerings.
Location: Near Union Square; urban, convenient location; transportation, restaurant with live jazz nearby. Stayed only one night, didn't explore area.
Stayed there for one night; room was small but comfortable and had all of the necessities.
