Awesome stay at the Hotel Stratford

Posted Feb 25, 2015
Location, Location, Location! This hotel is 2 blocks away from the bart station and is right in front on the trolley pick up station. It is also walking distance to Chinatown. The location and price can't be beat. The staff is extremely nice and helpful. We arrived at 8:00 a.m. and they held our bags till it was time to check in. The hotel itself isn't fancy, but the it is clean and the bed is comfy. The breakfast consists of cereal, coffee, juice and toast. It's not much, but it's more than any other hotel in the area offers. For the price, location, and service, I would stay here again in a heartbeat. :-)

Great location!

Posted Feb 25, 2015
Pros: Great location, great staff and clean rooms!
Cons: Elevator is super slow and the complimentary breakfast had very limited options!
It was me and my cousin's first time in San Francisco. We are both students, so it was very important for us to stay in budget! Loved the location of this hotel, we primarily chose it due to it's close proximity to everything (Union Square, BART, Fisherman's Wharf, China Town, cheap eats nearby etc.) and we also bought a visitor bus pass (highly recommended), we saved a lot of money on transportation as well! Overall hotel was small and cozy, rooms were always kept neat and tidy and the receptionist was very friendly as well!

Posted Feb 25, 2015
Pros:
Cons:

Nice little hotel

Posted Feb 24, 2015
Pros: Hotel is close to public transportation lines. Restaurants and shopping is walking distance. Free Continental Breakfast & Free WiFi
Cons: Be able to have AC in the room. Street noise can be quite loud when the windows are open to cool down the room.
Location: The hotel in on a cable car route. It is also walking distance to a metro station. There are various shops and food places around.
I had no problems checking in. The only problem I had was when my card key stopped working the second night. I had to get a new card. My room was on the seventh floor in the corner. It was an older style room that was kept clean and tidy. The room size I thought was adequate. There are no screens in the windows (no problems with bugs) and the windows only open half way. To cool the room, I had to open both windows and turn on the ceiling fan. One of the windows faces the main street. At night it can get noisy, so I had to close the window facing the street. There is free WiFi in the hotel. I had no problems connecting to it in my room. The hotel has free continental breakfast in the morning served on the second floor. It consists of cold cereal, toast, little cupcakes, juice, tea and coffee.

Excelente ubicación y precio

Posted Feb 22, 2015

best location in town and at the best price

Posted Feb 22, 2015
Cons: mattresses. a sign suggesting people going down can use the stairs. staff should use stairs to the basement instead of guests waiting to go up.
right by union square and the start of the crazy ride cable car, surrounded by expensive hotels and stores but 2 min to ross and marshalls, also fabulous discount shoe store. every kind of restaurant and 7 walgreens. absolutely the ideal place and yet this hotel is reasonably priced, clean, pleasant with a nice coffee and toast breakfast and mostly nice staff. the cleanliness of this older place is amazing, kudos to the cleaning team. mattresses could use a change.

Excellent location from which to explore.

Posted Feb 20, 2015
Pros: It is very well located for jumping on the cable car or bus which stop virtually outside. From here you can explore all sides of the peninsula.
Cons: I consider it good value, especially given the location. If you want more space or creature comforts it comes at a cost.
Location: Buses good value with a CityPass. Aquarium appeals to younger visitors. Legion of Honor museum worth a visit. Cable car to Fisherman's Wharf.
This is a boutique hotel with small, functional rooms. They offer a perfectly acceptable breakfast buffet which is well stocked with three kinds of cereal, bread for toasting, some fruit, tea and coffee. The staff are helpful and were happy to check flight times and provide directions to local restaurants. We were on the top floor - the 8th - and weren't troubled by other guests, although you may want to pack some ear plugs if you sleep with the window open as San Francisco goes to bed late and gets up early! The rooms are small but they are clean and have a wardrobe, some drawers, a good bed, sink, TV, en suite shower and toilet - everything you might want when you spend the majority of the time exploring what the city has to offer. We caught the BART from the airport to Powell St, which took about 30 minutes, followed by a 5-minute walk to the hotel. A one-way ticket cost $8.65 and avoided the significant volume of traffic.

Great Location and Comfort for the price

Posted Feb 18, 2015
It was a very convient great priced hotel, for the middle of the city. Upon check in we were greated with such enthusiasm and comfort for our stay. I would recommend this hotel to anyone just coming to see the city and the room just for sleep and great breakfast. No A/C in case you book when it's hot, but we were very comfortable.

Posted Feb 14, 2015
