Very convenient location on market street. Close to shopping malls and restaurants. Room was kinda too small for us and the drain didn't work very well.

Decent mid-range hotel

If you're looking for a less-expensive option to high-end hotels, but don't want to stay in a low-end place, Hotel Whitcomb is a great alternative. Has many of the amenities of high-end, but not quite up to par with them. Location is better than it seems at first glance, just out of range of the tenderloin. The building is also designated historic, and is quite beautiful, if a bit worn. Room in back of hotel quite quiet for a city hotel on a main street. I would go back for sure.

I may recommend (not strongly though) but depends

Pros: Location
It is an OK hotel to crash at night. But, hey... remember to bring your own water bottle.

Pros: Good staff

Hotel was ok, room was small. The staff was excellent, got in very early and they checked us in with no problem. Convenient location near a Bart stop.

Great hotel if you're going to the Orpheim Theathe

Posted May 15, 2015
Pros: Convenience
Cons: I know we're going thru a drought but the shower heads need to release enough water to wash off soap.
Location: Diners, museums, Theathers, Bart, cable cars, local transit.
We decided to stay here because it was close to the Orpheim Theather, right across the street. Easy access to and from I8o, we live in West Sacramento. The resturant in the hotel was completely booked for dinner, we went to a very neat diner across the street, excellent food. The older gentleman that checked us in and out was quite knowledgeable. Only thing is paying $39 for parking. If I ever go to the Theather again in the city I will stay here.
