great boutique hotel for couples near Union SquarePosted May 26, 2015
Pros: location, wifi in room, breakfast, helpful staff
Location: next to Union Square, 4 blocks from Powell Street station. You could walk to China Town, Financial District. Long hilly walk to Fisherman's Wharf.
I decided to splurge and book us in a boutique hotel in Union Square, and this did not disappoint. The wifi in the room was great and supported streaming, breakfast was good, and so was the complementary wine and snacks each evening. The staff was always very helpful, even holding our bags after checkout until our flight later that day. The location was great, right off Union Square, and about 4 blocks from the Powell Street station. I would definitely stay here again.

ユニオンスクェアーの真ん前、セントフランシスの角曲がって、１０秒！！Posted May 12, 2015

Wonderful StayPosted May 5, 2015
Pros: Without question the hotel staff and location.
Location: Excellent location, a half block from the cable car track which is a must do while in San Francisco. There are also several great restaurants nearby.
We arrived in San Francisco mid-afternoon and after a long flight we were looking forward to a nice room and a relaxing atmosphere. When we first walked in I had a very concerned feeling that we had booked the wrong hotel for our week stay. It was a very small and vintage lobby. However, the hotel staff proved to be the most friendliest and helpful individuals we have ever encountered. Our room was wonderful with a large sleeping area and a good sized bath. The hotel was very clean and again, the staff was excellent. The Inn at Union Square is and old hotel which has been kept up and proved a great place for our stay. I would highly recommend this hotel to my best friends and anyone looking for a wonderful place to say while in San Francisco!

A basic hotel with good locationPosted Apr 18, 2015
Pros: It's cleanliness and location (see below). Easily accessible WiFi.
Cons: No AC; no matter in April, but, even in SF, on a humid day in August, would the ancient ceiling fan suffice? The single elevator is ancient and slow.
Location: The hotel is off Union Sq., with ample restaurants, high-end shopping choices. Market St., a main transportation corridor, is 4 short blocks away.
This is a very small and basic hotel in an old building, but not offering the extras that the label "boutique" suggests. There're few amenities beyond evening turn-down service, ice machines and an acceptable breakfast: bread and a toaster, bagels, pastry selection, 2 cereals, OJ, fruit, yogurt and cold hard-boiled eggs of slightly dubious freshness. (There's an evening wine period I did not experience.) My room and bathroom were small--fine for single use--and quiet. The single window had an excellent view of a brick wall, which probably helped block street noise. Decor style was old fashioned though materials are quite fresh-looking. There was a four-chair lounge on my floor (and most floors?) with a refrigerator and coffee/hot water. Staff interaction was mainly with the single receptionist in the tiny lobby--pleasant enough. But when I stored luggage upon checkout and, to attend a meeting in suit and tie, and wanted to come back to change into something more comfortable for my flight and to repack my suitcase, they could/would only offer a tiny public restroom. There would be no unmade rooms available for 5 minutes' use, I was told firmly-twice. But in fact, when I returned, staff were obviously still making up rooms after guest departures. Instead of a firm "no" early on, why not have given me an "if available" response? Inflexible and unhelpful.
